Hi Guys,

Along with my oil pressure warning issue have this knock sensor fault too. Also only coming on after getting back from dealers.

I’ve tried testing resistance but don’t get any ready on multimeter. I’ve also done the knock sensor test - short trip with vcds and seems fine and it gets “System OK”

The 2 connections seem good for knock sensor 1 and 2.

I guess the only thing left to do is try trace the wiring loom back to the knock sensor to see if damaged until ruling out the knock sensor itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealers overtightened or didn’t tighten this up at all to specified torque. Only issue is to get to these guys looks like have to remove turbo and a small heat shield that protects them.

Anyone else have this issue ? bfd6252d65d50cf2d139959d3cd43579.jpg

Take it back to them and let them sort it out.

They’ve clearly not made sure all is good with the new engine.

Thanks agreed but I’m just so sick and tired of taking it back to them. This will be the 3rd return trip back to them after engine repairs.
The quality of their workmanship is disgusting to say the least. I’ve already found loose bolts around the head that we’re finger tight. All the subframe bolts loose. Huge oil leak. They left me with no fuel in the car where I ran out of fuel not even 1km down the road trying to get to a fuel station. Bumper popped off on left side cause they left the fender bolts and speed clips off. They closed the bonnet down ontop of I think the engine cradle when removing it. Punctured a hole in bonnet fabric and dented bonnet.

So at this stage I’m trying to sort out as much as I can hoping they’ve overlooked something simple.

However if it means removing the turbo etc then absolutely it’s going back. I just know when it comes back something else will be wrong. Never ending story!

Hi Dell,

Yip, done with Audi while the car still under plan, which expired while they had the car.

So the only warranty going forward is the parts and workmanship.

So it’s been booked back in for next week.

At least we got a courtesy car from them. We got it with 300kms so pretty much brand new. When we returned it had 8000kms.

But you right... Horror story from day one. Keep on hoping things will come right and I’ll get to enjoy the car but it’s not happening at the moment. At least I can say I havnt spent a cent on it YET. Everything has been done under its factory warranty.

Yep sounds like they didn't torque them up correctly.

Find a specialist get them to do a full health check, then take the car back to Audi with the list of faults or go to a different dealership and hope they are better.

Don`t delete the fault codes. If you do and they don`t come back Audi won`t touch it.

Catalunya Red ,Heated rear window,Power steering,Wireless (with FM),Seat belts,Servo assisted brakes.Pneumatic tyres. Disc brakes.
