So I’ve got a remap and full service booked at an APR dealer near me, only issue is my friend is sure it’s already been mapped (only from being a passenger) he thinks it feels to torquey to be standard

Anyway for me to be sure before I go get it mapped ?

Ahh ok how’d I do that lol, I’m sure they wouldn’t but just worried if he says it’s not mapped but turns out it is and I pay £££ for nothing as I’m a little naive, they have no rolling road but did say we go on road before and after to check real world levels boost etc are all within Apr stage 1 parameters.

Or stick it on a dyno - that will tell all mate.  For me personally I would be spending money on handling and braking mods before adding juice to the Go pedal.

These cars are rapid enough in a straight line out of the box unless you are just interested in 1/4 mile / Santa Pod runs in which case taking the power as high as possible makes sense.

It’s got rear ARB and brand new PS4’s (like last week all round)
Pads are fairly new to, what else would you recommend ??

Where you based?
Even if the car is tuned doesn't mean it's any good, so logging the car is the best information you need.

Shelton.

I'm with ED money spend in the handling dept is the way to go before a power increase you've already started in the right direction with the rear arb & MPS4s.👍

If you own a 8P I'll junk the stock suspension & fit something like Bilstein B14/B16.

Vastly better ride, handling & will complement the aftermarket rear arb mate.😁

I would look at the brakes too - the stock setup doesn't take much punishment.

I’m in Ipswich (Suffolk)
And I think my suspension is standard it’s harsh on bumps etc but I quite like the ride makes it very sporty feeling (maybe I should find someone with a decent setup so I can feel before I buy)

Shelton did ask what recommend mods Ben & the stock suspension don't do the 8P engine any justice.

Bit of an arrogant response.

People are only offering opinions !

Why not improve the handling and brakes, it can actually be beneficial even over a stage 1 tune, it’s not like the 8P isn’t powerful anyway.

@ Dell & @T-800

The op didnt ask for any ones opinion on handling over power. He wanted to know how can he find out if his car is tuned or not.

I dont think a stage 1 tune upsets the car enough to warrant going suspension first. But we all have opinions and that wasnt the ops question.

Why apologise Dell, you offered an opinion about enhancing an already great car, there’s a lot to be said for that because it then gives an owner the chance to exploit more of the standard power when it matters.

Ha I didnt see that post.

Either way guys no offense intended to any one, I was actually just making light of the fact it's only a stage 1 tune and doing suspension or brakes before or after the tune wont really matter.

T-800 matey I certainly wasn't trying to be arrogant, text interpretation is a wonderful thing.

Shetlon.

If the small dog bone bushes have gone i would also check the bushes on the cross member & gearbox mount as they may be f##ked mate.
