Hi guys, I’m after a bit of advice. I’ve recently decat my RS3 both primary and secondary.
I was advised that I’d want a remap because the EML would come on, followed by the car going into limp mode. Sure enough it did (as advised by the previous owner of the decat)
P001100
A camshaft position (bank 1) timing over-advanced or system performance.
Anyway, my question is does this fault code seem as if it’s because of the decat?
Has anyone else decat theirs without a remap?
Thanks in advance guys!
A bit of decat trouble, please help!

Decat has nothing to do with that code. It`s either cam position sensor or the variable cam sprockets faulty.

Cheers, would there even have been a code?

Av got secondary decat done and mine brings up the eml light too every time am on a long journey on the motorway just cruising the code is p0420 catalyst below threshold , also brings up misfire in cylinder 1 and 2 but the car is fine and no problems , I think I will need it mapped out but since you’ve got the primary I would imagine it would deffo need mapped because it will be running too rich

Secondary’s make no difference at all.
There are no sensors in the secondaries or after downstream so the car has no idea what’s fitted after the downpipe.
Perhaps you have an issue after all with your primary cat?

Don’t know why mine keeps bringing up the eml light after a motorway journey
Get the car scanned by someone who knows what there looking at & go from there mate.
Dell.

I would expected some sort of light relating to “catalyst below threshold” or similar. This seems a little strange. Hopefully it’s nothing too major...
