Hi guys first post on here. Looking for information on my car and was wondering if anyone has ever owned it. Not had it long but took it to the garage today as since I have had it there is a slight smell of fuel on idle. Garage have told me it has a full milltek turbo back, no cat and a ram air induction. ECU is locked so can’t see who has remapped it and has also had dsg mapped. Reg of car begins RX61 Daytona Grey Audi,Exclusive Interior Any response would be appreciated

Darron.

Welcome to the RS3OC 👍 the smell off fuel & other nasty is common with a fully non cat exhaust system so don't leave it running in an enclosed area too long.🙈

You could try contacting MRC as they do DSG remaps mate.

Hi Dell

Thanks for the reply the garage I bought it from is getting in touch with the previous owner so hopefully will find out.

Further to this I had rolling road test done and the guy said the smell was normal for no catalyst. He did say that when it gets warm he thought it had a slight boost leak as 2nd and 3rd runs were down on power as turbo was cutting out then going again if that makes sense.suggested I get a smoke test done, tbh I am not mechanically minded. Would just be nice to find out what previous owner has done with it as it is far standard as I thought.

Cheers

If it cutting out then coming back, good chance it’s the DV that’s to blame. Cheap and easy fix, well if you have double jointed fingers to get to one of the bolts 😂

Hi Mark

Thanks for your reply once the weather gets better I will be checking under the bonnet. Tbh I am very happy with the car goes very well and Have never felt the turbo has cut on me when driving. He said when turbo demanded more boost slight dip then go again. I remember an old Subaru I had and that overboosted and tried to throw you through the screen ha ha. The Dyno results show there is something up.

First run recorded 437.4 hp 722 Nm
Second run 386.4 with 647
Third run after letting it cool down a while 391 with 653

Either something up or first run suspect

Decent numbers, first run is around claimed stage 2 numbers and the other two are more like stage 1. Do you know what intercooler is on the car?

Think it’s got a standard intercooler on, but will have to check, more likely stage 1, would dv cut turbo at 45k on clock, if stage 1? Would it perform better first time just because it was cold,

Darron.

The stock IC struggles with inlet temperature when standard so a remapped RS3 one will have heat sink problems, which I'm guessing is the case with yours mate.

That’s what I was eluding to as well Dell. Good chance it’s no even a boost leak just heat soak issue.

Mark.

If the intake temperature goes beyond a preset value the ecu will back off timing & boost to keep the engine safe.

When I had my 8p and mapped to stage 1 with standard intercooler.
First dyno run made 387 bhp and and next 2 runs only pulled 365 ish.
Heat soak will easily drop power as the ecu try’s to protect the engine.

Hi dell well I managed to take a look at the intercooler this morning, Took number plat off and found that it has a Forge intercooler.

Problem is the number plate is covering most of it as too low down I have attached a picture.

Darron.

The bottom of my No plate only just covers the top 2 rows of my Forge IC so no real problem tbh.
