Time to get an 8V.

Two fault codes have popped up 10685 databus U1121 00 [047] Missing message and 10801 Implausible data received from ABS control module U0415 00 [040] The gear changes are really lazy. When I use the paddles to change down the revs blip and drop and the car lurches forward instead of engine braking. Also when I give it some throttle it is as if the clutches are slipping. Hopefully an ABS sensor or something simple. Just got 4 Michelin PS4S fitted, won’t be trying them out till the new year now.

I was tempted to buy a new one but can't justify spending that amount of cash for it to sit in the garage half the year when I'm away.

You won't regret doing it, I did after a few months of owning a 8p, the 8p is a good car but the 8v.1 and 8v.2 are just amazing cars

Time to get rid I think bud, you've had no end of problems with it.

Aye it’s been a slog with this thing, it could be the refurbed mechatronic not communicating with the ABS module or maybe it is something simple. Classic example of buy cheap buy twice. I’ll wait and see when I get home and get it looked at.
It the only logical step, I would miss the sound! I’ve just started working in Norway so home a lot more so can justify even more now 🤣

I test drove an 8V.1 before I bought the 8P, absolutely loved it. Really wish I had just got one then.

I'm going to be in the .minority here and say I prefer the 8p. Love that I will unlikely to ever see one on the road. Driven both cars and the 8v is a massive step up in interior but feels alot more removed from the driving experience. 8p feels more savage, although by no means the last word on driver feel as both cars have lifeless steering imo.

I'm going to be in the .minority here and say I prefer the 8p. Love that I will unlikely to ever see one on the road. Driven both cars and the 8v is a massive step up in interior but feels alot more removed from the driving experience. 8p feels more savage, although by no means the last word on driver feel as both cars have lifeless steering imo.

Having owned both an 8p & an 8v & still have use of my Wife's 8p I concour with your comments above
The 8p does still feel somthing special every time I drive it.

What is the safe limit power wise for the 8p.

around 500-550 with up to 800Nm seem to be about your limits on a stock engine.I’m actually in limbo land at the moment. Deciding to go 8p and spend a few quid on it to make it really go. Or stretch my budget and buy an 8v.

Mine just had a remap but in all honesty . Don’t think it did much. Sounded fantastic though. . Dell, how did you find the 8p compared to the r32 for drive etc. Did it feel similar but with a lot more go?

The A3 3.2 was very nose heavy but a lovely engine & once remapped with the cams went very well but the RS3 is in a different league in all areas.

There will be others on here that have pushed power limits. I did an APR map within 2 weeks of collecting the car and ran perfectly fine now for 4 years. A few propshafts went from aggressive launches even at stock (not mine but others on the forum), after a quick map you will be running 400bhp and closer to 500lbft tq. Uprated propshaft bolts is one solution, or even better an uprated prop shaft. I think all would agree engine wise the 2.5tfsi can take alot more with ttrs's running well over 500bhp with hybrid turbos etc. If I was going for power gains would get am uprated propshaft first, launching the RS3 is savage even at stage one map.I’m actually in limbo land at the moment.
