I just received a letter from Civil Enforcement Ltd (Liverpool L2 3PF) requiring payment of a PCN for an address in North East Englandshire earlier this month.

I am certain it wasn't me - I've never been to that particular town... and I was at the dentist approximately 30 mins before the alleged parking offence up here in sunny Scotland! Would be good going, even in the RS3, to drive 150+ miles in 30 minutes  :D

Reading various suggestions online, ranging from ignore it to challenge, one of my main concerns is if the automatic number plate recognition cameras are actually working in the parking spot - has someone cloned my private registration, and if so, what to do about it?

Any suggestions?

Cheers in advance!

Dell is your man for advice on this one - the PCN should be straightforward but you need to make sure you are covered for any other nonsense going forward.

Cloning number plates is now a common phenomena so if you can compile any evidence however small about you & your RSs whereabouts at the time & then send it with your representation it will be considered in a favourable light.

Include photo's of the front/rear & sides of your RS so the authorities can do a comparison with the other vehicle, something silly as different number plates will get you off the hook & once this case is resolved you will be able to use this case to defend other ones that may crop up mate.

Dell.
