I’m looking at upgrading my dogbone mount there’s a few out there I see 034 is a popular one however I also see APR do one made of stainless steel I’m thinking with it being made of stainless steel this makes it stronger and more rigid compare to a aluminium option that a lot are made from
Any thoughts and experiences with the APR please
Cheers

Huwgo.
Stainless steel is more brittle that aluminum & may pass on more vibration mate.

That’s the negative I was thinking regarding using stainless with the NVH issue
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced one
I think I’ll stick with the aluminium as it’s proven tried and tested on here 👍

Do you think it’s worth uprating the hoses while replacing the intercooler??

Looks nice but I thought the slop came from the large subframe mounting.I know APR launched this recently.

Wonder how much it is? Couldn’t see a price.

I was actually looking at the £68 APR mount that fits directly in the subframe

Yes I know just thought I’d link the above pendulum replacement mount.
A good bush insert I’m told is the Forge one.
I’ve also heard the powerflex silicone inserts are ok too. They come in Yellow (softest) or purple (harder)

I am getting a bit of knocking from the transmission sometimes and think it time to look at the mounting.
Question: Is the APR offering worth the extra? It certainly looks well machined, but what does it give that a bit of Powerflex polystuff does not?

More's the point how much more in ££££ do you give ?
I have a 034 insert but I would be more than happy tbh with the powerflex insert after fitting there one for the gearbox.mount.😁

I haven't had an experience with the APR dog bone insert but I have used the 034 Motorsport and now also the Forge version too. Be aware that the aluminum ones do tend to bend after a while (as per pic below - the damage and scrape marks came from when it was removed.). The 034 one was fitted to my PFL car, it did seem to make a small difference to how the car turned in and changing up through the gears under hard acceleration. There was no real noticeable vibration through the cabin.
I fitted the Forge version (the black one in the pic below) to my FL car but have to say that I have not really noticed any benefits. When the car was on the dyno a few weeks ago we could see that the engine/gearbox does not move about as much though.

From the last few replies, I have it such:
APR - muchas dineros
034 - implodes
Forge - Little improvement (?)
ECS - Generally good reports from the VW users
Powerflex - not many users, but these seem happy.
Price for Powerflex is not bad, so maybe the way to go (plus, I need some bushes for my little Skoda, so can combine postage) - Yellow or Purple?

I removed it and fitted the red diesel version which gave 95% of the improvements with no additional vibration.
When I eventually get round to doing mine I think it’ll either be the ECS one I’ve listed or a red diesel powerflex one.

I chap I know had the purple one fitted and hated it.
He then got the yellow fitted and loved it.
