Tried searching on the forum. Is there a scanner that anyone would recommend ideally that can do a BMW as well as my RS?
The wife’s 1 series has an intermittent cold start issue and stop start that works about once a week.... only owned it 3 week! Nice reliable thing for the baby... well that was the plan!

You might be better off looking for a generic obd reader from somewhere like eBay that will at least read the BMW’s Ecu mate.

Suspected as much! What do you use for your RS? You find it useful?

If your more knowledgeable on long coding it can do that to as well for you. It also has in built adaptions such as oil and inspection service reset and oil temp gauge (PFL). But you do need to purchase credits to do these adaptations.
However if you are going to be using it a lot and more knowledgeable then VCDS is the one to have as this is better than Audi’s own diagnostic system so I’m told.

Hi Ollie I use the obdeleven dongle. Now I’m not a very techie computer person so this fits right up my street as it’s interface is clean and easy to use. Cost about 50euros for the pro version and is android only compatible.

As Dan suggested
Obdeleven is a very cool bit of kit for the diy guy. I even use one as it's easy to keep in my car.
Just keep away from the coding, if you don't know what your doing. It can go wrong.
