Hiya peeps, the other day whilst scrooling through the many RS3 facebook groups I'm a part of I came across this post. It's a link to an eBay listing for chrome roof rails for the 8p sportback, they cam also be wrapped by the supplier. They are abit costly for just a couple strips of metal and some 3M Tape but I'm seriously considering buying them and getting the look I'd of loved from factory.
Let us know what you think or if anyone has bought some and what the quality is like?

This is someone different but I was also contemplating having roof rails too however I don’t fancy just sticking them on and I certainly don’t fancy removing the roof lining to drill through.

The roof rails certainly look good though. Don’t see many around with them on. I wanted the Ali rails really not chrome but these too that I was offered have been wrapped in Matt black

If you want them let me know

Some of you old timers may recognise the car below with roof rails.

Like you i loved to have roof rails fitted to mine but in gloss black. :D

Also like yourself i don't want to remove the headlining & drill the mounting holes in the roof. :(

It's more for the look rather than any useful purpose....

Yeah well I think they might be brushed aluminium it's hard to tell from the pictures, as long as the 3M Tape is strong enough and it is applied to a clean surface I can't see a problem with them tbh. I used to work somewhere which moulds and paints spoilers for all kinds of high end cars, like McLaren and Aston Martin and there are very few fixings on certain car mouldings, in fact, on the mk2 focus rs there are 2 bits of exterior trim only held on by 3M Tape.
As long as it's decent tape and the surface is clean it would be fine.

I just like how they look on the Daytona grey, they seem to look good on lowered cars. I've put a picture of mine and 2 with roof rails to give you an ideaea2af0a60dc081736ea23b7e82f80b97.jpg55e74c8965276b022a70f34d565ca490.jpgd9a61c520c603dff5dc25d2e1958c90e.jpg

It just needs something else to make it unique is all, it's either roof rails or front splitter

If you do go ahead with this without saying The obvious rember to tell the next owner the rails are only stick on’s, saves any mishaps with roof rails and boxes 😂

Not at all, both of our RS 3's had black roof bars as factory fitments  B)  It's just the thought of stick on ones & the poor guy who buys the car & doesn't realise it has stick on roof bars & decides to put a bike rack with couple of bikes on top!  :o  :ambulance:

I know the back section pops off easily with spring clips but no doubt the main centre section isn’t as straight forward. I’ll have a little look into it as if it comes off easily I may see if I like them enough to bolt them on.

I would love them on mine to go with the rest of the silver trim, must have just been an option not many people ticked. Can you not get them fitted from a dealership?

............i don't think any '' main dealer '' would take the risk on a huge job. Spoke to mine about fitting power fold mirrors & they won't even do that.
