And so it begins, the build starts tomorrow and to say I am a little excited would be a understatement for sure. The kit arrived this morning with Trent at etuners and looks incredible.

I am looking to do a build report as it progresses over the course of the next couple of weeks.

then cover the testing both on the dyno and track if people are interested.

Yeh it's an external waste gate, dumped into a catless system. It's a pfl car with a stage 2 build at the moment running wmi.

The Big Turbo build has begun. Trent has added a 2nd nozzle to the wmi and of course a HPFP. We are looking at around the 650-680hp and hoping that we will get enough fueling and it will not be a limiting factor. It is going to have 2 tunes done with one for standard 98 and road use and one for race fuel that will be flashed in when we hit the drag or track.

With everything going to plan we are looking to be on the dyno late next week for the initial tuning to begin on  :grey: beast.

One week down and everything is on track for a day on the dyno this coming Friday. There has been a small amount of fabrication to do to the exhaust with a dump pipe made for the track and also to marry up the 3.5" down pipe to the existing system for road use. There was also a hose missing which needed to be made.

Exciting times and I cannot wait to get the car on the road.

The car is back and the fabrication work has been done with new exhaust and a dump for the special track days. One hose was missing and this has also been made.

I have also gone for a lightweight race seat, so, I also got the mounts done ready for when I strip the car for the drags.

It should all be getting built today, so, fingers crossed.

Thanks guys, I am frothing to get in it. The runners have not turned up for the race seat yet, so, fingers crossed they do. If not I will keep interior as is for now and strip when necessary. I have provisionally got in on a private drag day Saturday week with a few top fuel 5 sec cars  :o  :o  :o Should get a good few runs in, and tweak the race fuel tune and dsg shift points. Only thing is the 18" wheels and drag radials will not be in and the car will be stock weight.

Excitement is peaking right now as tomorrow we will do the first race fuel tune for the big turbo pfl. The final parts of the build will be completed today, with the 2nd wmi nozzle and dump pipe fitted. This is going to be a very rowdy motor indeed. I am hoping to post a youtube link tomorrow night with some of the dyno runs and finished engine bay.

Next week we will tune with 98 pump gas and exhaust fitted and then I will be able to bring the beast home  :11:  :11:  :11:

A quick update guys. I was hoping to have the car at a private drag day on Saturday, but, as is the case when doing something a little different a few curveballs can get in the way.

First up the external wastegate had an issue and was not holding boost, it would hold up to 25psi, but, no more. The first tune was completed at this boost pressure and achieved 365wkw around 610hp. We are aiming to run around 30psi on the Xona Rotor with the engine as it is. This was with the dump pipe only fitted and this is where more issues occured.

The dump pipe (I am calling Smaug) was breathing fire down on the front rollers and fired the dyno circuit board and thus ended play before both boost could be raised and timing could be advanced with race fuel instead of pump gas.

A real bummer, but, all good things come to those who wait and it's looking very likely that will achieve 380wkw+ around 640-650hp.

It's a shame as I had managed to get aboard a private booking of the Eastern Creek Dragway this Saturday with some 5 second race cars. It would have given us a heap of time to play with the tune and also the shift points for the dsg.

Hopefully the dyno will be fixed later this week and the final tunes can be completed and I can get the car to the track.
