Factory finish on Wheels?

I've got the standard 5 spoke alloys on my white RS 3. There is the diamond cut out edge area with the rest of the wheels being, what I can only describe as a mottled satin black finish.

Was this the factory finish or has this been done when they have been re-furbed before I purchased the car? If not what was the factory finish so I can get them done properly?
