Evening lads,

As the title says I went to have a dry run at removing my lambda sensor in preperarion to me changing the Miltek downpipe to fit my stock cat tomorrow, before the car goes in for an MOT Wednesday. I unclipped the connector from the harness on the bulkhead then attempted to remove the sensor, it moved a fraction of a turn and went very tight. I don’t want to force it incase I damage it. Is it a case or just getting medieval on it?

I am going to buy a new one to keep in my cat for future MOT’s I think.

How about fitting the Miltek cat for mot days & saving you all that grief off removing the down pipe each year mate. :89:

I know it would be easier but £630 just for MOT’s is not wallet friendly. Would have considered it if the car hadn’t cost me so much since I bought it. Changing the down pipe on a ramp only costs me an hour or two of my time and £30. If I had though earlier I could have had a new lambda ordered and here. I doubt I’ll get one today anyway.

As you have access to ramps fair play & you have to work with what you got.

Don't you know off any sympathy MOT people as if you stick the O2 sensor in the close flap tail pipe that can get you through mate.

I spent about 2 hours at it and it won’t budge 😂

I think it’s going to be a case of gut the stock down pipe and buy some secondary cats for next years MOT.

Need to ask nicely to see if the lad will work some magic.

Im running a fully gutted stock system & at the last MOT I just refitted the stock 2nd cats & passed with no problems.

Next year I'll won't be refitting the 2nd cat & see if the O2 sensor up the flap closed tail pipe passes as my MOT people are sympathetic.😁

Good luck mate 👍

Dell.
