This year I have too but it’s only because of my OCD it gets expensive. Keep going, it’s worth it.

Pays (literally) to keep on top of these things.......

As cars get older they need regular maintenance.

Look after the car and it’ll look after you......

Christ, I’m sounding more like an old duffer every day

Sean.

I agree 100% if you let things slip they just escalate into major ££££££  :(

Bearing in mind this cars are getting to be 6/7 years old now.

Dell.

So you have to buy a whole new cam cover for a failed rubber diaphragm. Shocking but typical Audi 😭😭
Audi RS3 8P 2011: Phantom Black, Retrofit genuine Audi black grille. Mods: Milltek Decat pipes, Bilstein B16 Coilovers with 034 Motorsport top mounts. Superpro front control arms, Powerflex Gearbox & Dogbone mount inserts, 034 Motorsport Rear ARB, 034 Motorsport Front & Rear Drop Links. Reyland 370mm front brake rotors.

Yip ... lucky for me one of my friends had a cover he replaced because they thought it was faulty as he got some error code. Turned out to be something else.
Fitted it this morning and all is perfect even if it's not a brand new cover.

So was that the only symptom then just excess noise? Didn’t affect any running of the car? Rough idle etc?

Is that the tiny split at 3 o’clock position?

At this stage it was just the major hissing sound, i would have started to throw a code at some time. Strangely the car does idle different not sure why .... will report back if there is any thing that changed.
There is actually 2 tears in the diaphragm, thid surely will affect the working of the crank case ventilation.

I’m pretty sure IROZ make a really nice CNC cover for your model. I know you have sorted it but it would be good to know if they use the diaphragm parts off the original or have something else.

I am busy checking if i can find a diaphragm that might be a direct replacememt, seems many looks the same from the Audi/Vw stable but it's not as easy here to actually see if it will work :-(

Hi Jacques, can you measure the diaphragm and thickness please as the RS2 uses a diaphragm in the wastegate which tears when boost is raised.
