Oh deary me I shouldn't have watched that, the GTR....want!

I'm stunned by the verdict!  Chris Harris in at 6.09 "I bloody love these Audi's" shock comment, but don't worry "it's because it doesn't feel like an Audi. Sounds a bit cruel but it doesn't" lol

Funniest moment - 6.56 - "You've got to have your Sport button on haven't you, if you're going to go faaassstt"

I love Anglesey Circuit and I work is taking me up there soon which will surely mean a few visits to that glorious track.  It looks like you are going to drop into the sea as you power through peel corner (see 8.52 in the R8, 12.32 in the GTR on the vid)!

Fair play to Harris he is committed, that 911 understeer out of the fast right hander at Church onto the rumble strips and 130mph up the hill to rocket is seriously moving.  In a Caterham on a windy day you get blown across the track here and 110mph up the hill is as much as I've seen/dared!  Properly scary stuff.

The honest truth is, as much as I love the RS3, there is a GTR with my name on it out there somewhere - soon!

Nice find that vid!

I've alway's considered a GTR however from reports as a daily its not great,  Cheap plastic inside and an awful car to have to sit in slow moving traffic in.  (So i'm told)

The Porsche, Well it for me is one of those 'must own' cars however you need to spend big bucks to get one thats quick,  They all look quick to Joe Bloggs on the street but we all know that the RS3 will own the majority of them.

R8.... Dream car, Possibly/ideally my next car.... Ideally the V10 but i'd happliy sacrifice the power for the also great V8.  They just look awesome!

Pick one?  Depends what your doing,  Point to point it'd be the GTR,  Daily the R8!

Evo reviewed the R8 V10+ against the MacLaren and Ferrari 458 and the R8 was their pick of the bunch. It's an incredibly accomplished car.

An R8 with the S-Tronic and CoD to make it a little more economic would be my ideal motor. Or they could put the 2.5T engine in it for my money.

I recently ran in to an owner of a R8 V10 (he also own a Porsche) and I asked him what his opinion was on the R8.
He said its a perfect Sportscar on public roads, but he tried it on track once and said he wouldn't do that again.
He sid, the R8 is not finished for tracks and compared to the Porsche the R8 has too many weaknesses of which the brakes are the worst (and he had ceramic brakes mounted on his R8!).
Still - as said before - he loves and keeps it...

Cheers Hartmut (SwissRS3)

I thought the ceramic brakes on the new RS4 were awesome on track - no fade at all but the pedal did get much softer and require more of a shove after 10 or so laps. The R8 V10 would be going a fair bit quicker as well so that might be why!

The RS4 was fun to drive on track but that isn't a track car either, way too heavy and the consumables cost would be massive! All the same they are seriously quick.

Maybe one day I will own an R8 and get to find out for myself. For now the GTR is too big an attraction for me in that price range.

I cant see me getting into anything else other than an R8.... Unless the new RS3 is worth the money!

The R8 both V8 and V10 soundtrack beat the RS3 hands down though

The R8, like the 911 (997) is starting to look good value as most of the depreciating is done, with a good warranty and a few £ in reserve wear and tear items it's looking a good buy.
