Today I fitted the valve delete plugs and with the exhaust valves constantly open it makes no difference to the start up ticking. I still have to put it into dynamic to make it stop.

What I can say is it makes a mega difference to the sound and gives that great 5 pot grunt all the time. I have the FL with the sports exhaust and it has transformed the sound. I am more than happy to have this sound all the time instead of only over 3000 rpm which was pitiful.

Stu,
Did U notice the car feeling lazy at low rpm with the exhaust valves unplugged?
I did this on my PFL and it left lousy lower in the rpm range. Put them back on and everything was sorted.

A few have reported the lag almost like it needs some back pressure for those slow speeds.

Also any link to the exhaust delete plugs please mate?

Cheers

Good man Stu. We need more noise. Was that the German box that fits in passenger footwell and is fitted with multi plugs? Was it difficult to do? Do you now get the pops and bangs, even a little more?

I'm pretty sure he is referring to the $100 plugs that connect directly to the exhaust valve connectors and not the $400 ASR unit

I have also noticed that the idle is sometimes slightly 'lazy' after unplugging the exhaust valves. I am hoping that the remapping session will help sort it out.

Stu, can you point me in direction to get these? Any drone at any speeds noticed?

Yes it does 'drone' a bit at around 2200 to 2500rpm when on motorways or cruising on longer journeys. Had mine on for about two weeks now and have got used to the improved noise but I would like to be able to switch it off on the longer journeys to be honest.

Hmmm, well used to some drone. Had an AWE system on my 3.0 S5. I ordered the part just now as per T-800, only one left on eBay. Looked like plastic plugs in picture but I guess there's a reason for that!

They are plastic plugs but reasonable quality and really easy to fit. Some owners just pull off the connectors and tape them up but I prefer to have a decent job of it and be able to reconnect them again without finding they have filled up with dirt or corroded to bits.

Hi, is this on your SB or Sedan?

The sedan is a lot more insulated. So I'm thinking it will have an impact on the level on drone. Should be less compared to the SB.

Don’t forget you need 1 set of each type for the servo motor and for the connector that you pull off it.

Ah, didn't realise . Thought one was for SB and other saloon. Ordered the other one just now. Do I follow you other thread to me T where I have to start car and put it in dynamic before I remove the plugs?
Thanks.

Guys, sorry I didn’t notice all the questions due to d3corating this weekend.

Yes it was the plug delete blanking units and not the modul in the footwell. I thought at £100 it was worth a try and I didn’t want to mess with the wiring, despite it looking easy enough.

I didn’t notice any obvious low down lag and start seemed no different. In launch the valves would already be open throughout and I never really put my foot flat to the floor below 2k+. Not sure if T-800 found an issue but it seems good to me. This is temporary for me to ge5 the sound it should have, as my intention is to go big turbo after all the littles issues have been found for people running 700hp.

The quality is very good on these items with both a perfect fit and nice water tight seals. Only took 5 mins a side to fit despite the obvious space limitation with the height and the fact I couldn’t be bothered to jack up the car. On the passenger side cable tied the loose lead to the chassis have fed the cable tie in and back out of 2 drain holes. Longer cable ties made it easier and I simply snipped off the excess. It’s a 10 min reversal for anyone who wants it looking standard for servicing.

Much better sound and to be honested if there is a drone I didn’t notice and nowhere near as bad as previous cars with aftermarket exhaust systems. The link is the ones given by T-800, although I ordered 2 of each type and got 2 sets come through the post?

Thanks Stu. Have you anything to do first before unplugging or are the flaps, already open by default when the car is not running and switched off? Just s simple matter of unplugging.....

UPDATE :
Units arrived today so ,as you say, 10 minutes to fit. Just unplugged the looks, attached the connectors and pushed them though the oblong hole into the chassis leg. Sounds class😁😁😁

Ach, had I known Stu I sure would have bought them from you. But listen, you will sell them...
Hey anyone out there want some awesome noise without breaking the bank, get these. They are great and give a deep throaty growl to the sports exhaust. A no brainer and Stu has a set....😀😀
