So BMW finally (finally) announced this week the August release of the M2 Competition, looks a decent spec and like the FL RS3 adds quite a bit more to the previous car. So, M4 engine with carbon strut brace, M3 seats? and a better exhaust system, guessing the engine should be very tunable (standard 404bhp?) and it will come with manual and an option for Auto. Oh and it finally has proper M wing mirrors too, feels like the M2 was never really an M car at first, though these changes seem like all decent changes, though I did notice a lot of options, including a big brake kit.

Seems a pretty good car, just a shame its not xdrive.... yet, anyone tempted?

Oh I forgot, did somebody mention it weighs more than an M4 too? Not sure that sounds right??

Think if I was looking for a change it might top the list, though I still can't see why all the motoring journo's seem to palce it against the TTRS, is it not really competing now against the RS3 Saloon??

Next up will be the A Class AMG45 (or 55?) with all the hand me down S Class tech.

So when will Audi get the next A3 out, must be due late this year, early next year?

One thing for sure, if the power carries on then the next RS3 is going to be one crazy crazy car... 430-450BHP?? I  think that is probably worth waiting for.

2 Doors, RWD, ยฃ49k standard. Lots of power, good for one month of the year when it's not raining as much.

I'd rather an RS6 or even a Mercedes to be honest. I think it looks the part though & I bet it'll have a killer sound.

Ahh the ultimate driving machine....

As James says only usable in the uk for 1 month a year maybe.

Although looking at that idiot on social media who crashed twice on a dry day then maybe not.......

But I suppose all the best drivers have beemers.

Well at some point surely BMW will have to start putting Xdrive (or some new similar engineering technology) to keep the damn things on the tarmac. You can't keep winding up the power and still expect the two driven rear wheels to transfer the fury under the bonnet into forward motion.

Maybe that's why there seems to be more and more of these M cars ending up stuffed into a tree or facing the wrong way on a roundabout!

You are forgetting Brian only true drivers buy BMW M Cars........

So they can post up videos on social media of the car swinging wildly around after coming out of side street/car meet.

Iโ€™m hoping in the drivers defence that the quality of the road surface in the states isnโ€™t up to the same as ours and heโ€™s over cooked it. Or heโ€™s been a tight arse and fitted crap tyres. Or realistically he couldnโ€™t pedal to save his life
