If watch the Alpine film on this weeks TG then, after it comes to it’s unplanned conclusion, the Monte Carlo course car seems to be an RS3 :D

Too much for what it is? It's actual competition for the Cayman, and yet no one seems to think the same about that. Porsche doesn't even have a 6-cylinder engine advantage now!

Anyway, I really like this Alpine. It's actually small and not so damned wide!

Was also a big fan of the original one so maybe a bit biased... Would much rather see something like this done in a retro way than the Fiat 500 or VW Beetle...!

Can you imagine in 60 years time when they are making retro RS3’s complete with electronic motors and simulation of

Agree - a 1.8 litre 4 pot doesn't sound exciting & even with a turbo is lacking that little extra umph. I like the Colin Chapman philosphy of lightness, mid engine balanced chasis. The overall design of the new A110 seems good and not unpleasant to the eye.

The thing is the original A110 had a small 4-pot engine too, so is actually closer to the original ethos in my opinion.

Still this is a debate that can go on and on!

£35k would get you into a low low mileage Alfa 4C, I'd have thought that car was more the competition to the Alpine compared  to the mass manufactured Cayman.

It'll always be a Renault, so it'll fall to pieces even IF they fix the fire fault lol !

Having had a bit of a fancy for a 4C, I sat in one and was totally gobsmacked at the 80's quality inside! Totally unacceptable for the price.

Obviously I haven't seen the Alpine up close and it may well be the same...
