With a growing family I have Been toying with the idea of doing to an s7 or an sq5 plus tdi variant.
Has anyone gone from at RS3 to the above I'm sure Roy did and uncle fester?
Can any one give any pros/cons , would you go s7 over an sq5 or vice Versa?
Opinions welcome.

S7 . all day every day ,(but I would say that )
Pros. comfy, smooth (air ride), extremely quiet (double glazing), fast, sneaky fast in fact, can get good mileage if cruising/sailing on the motorways under 2000 revs and still at national speed limit and on 4 cylinders, there are so many reasons to have one too many to list without getting boring
con, it is a long car ! that's it !
I honestly cant fault it .
If your ever close to Bluewater your more than welcome to come and have a drive
Best way to decide is to drive both of them

Thanks for that Roy and the offer, I have driven both and my only down side on the s7 is it's a little quiet exhaust wise but I'm sure that can be fixed. Otherwise like you say it's plenty quick enough. What are you thoughts in comparison to the RS3? No regrets getting the s7?

I have an x pipe put on mine and its now plenty loud enough , pop and bangs all over the place and still quiet on the motorway if needed.
I had plenty of probs with the 3 ,other wise I'd still have it or even a fl one ,
but the 7 does everything much better (no it probably would not keep up on a twisty a or b road) but 2 years at castle combe 1st place it cant be that bad ,,,,,,,
Yes I know this a RS3 forum but this is my honest opinion ,And apologies to any offended
the V8 tt is a proper peach of an engine ,and as just mentioned with the x pipe sounds great as it should do
there are a growing number of people who have gone from RS3 to the V8
again more than welcome to come see/listen

ah that's good to know does it make the same noises as the rs7 with the x pipe ? Do you have a link to it ?
I would love and rs6/rs7 just out of each for what I'm willing to pay at the moment.
I also had tons of issues with all of my RS3's, shame as it's a nice car I keep coming back to!

Dont have a link to it I'm afraid
Where abouts are you based ?
I can try and get my son to do something on his phone but it sounds much better in the "flesh"

However, with you saying about growing family etc, do they actually offer more interior practicality than the RS3? The SQ5 doesn't really offer that much more space, and with the S7 being a "fastback" that would surely compromise the carrying capacity?
I'm gonna throw this out there: S6 Avant?? Would seem to sort the need for more space as your family needs grow more... Plus you still get that V8 you're hankering after...!

Of the two I would prefer the S7. I have sat in Roy's and it really is a pleasant place to be.

I must admit I did find the S6 Avant a lovely motor.
With the only other ‘interesting’ Audi engine I like.

The 7 looks so much nicer than the 6 ,,,
the boot is huge and the seats obviously fold down so carrying most things is not a problem.

Interesting how the engine of the S6 & my RS7 performances look identical from the outside, apart from maybe the size of the Turbo's

Wasn't dissin' the 7, Roy, in my eyes the 7s look much better than the 6s too, and the interior is a notch up.
To be honest I haven't seen the size of the boot on the 7!!
