So if it is that can I just buy 1 instead of 5?
Benny.

Cool. Thanks for the input guys. Going to meet a guy Friday night that has VCDS so hopefully something might come of it. T-800 if it's the coils that are the issue il give you a call and do a deal. Cheers.

Very good deal that indeed. Not sure if I need them or not after today I'm puzzled again. So bought 1 new coil pack today. Before I put it in I took the misfiring one out of cylinder 3 and swapped it for cylinder 1. VCDS again and yes problem now on cylinder 1 so I thought great il stick the new coil pack in and job done . Checked again and no misfire counts. Cars still not right so not sure what to do now. Any suggestions? Spark plugs only 2 months old so shall I just change all the coil packs and hope for the best? Cheers.
What plugs are you using?

Sod it il put 5 new coil packs in and see what happens. T800 il take you up on the offer please if they will fit my car. If that don't fix it the the garage said to take it back to them and they will look at it. If it wasn't so far away then I'd take it back before doing the coils but seen as it would probably cost me 60 quid in fuel may as well change the coil packs first and hope for the best. Lol.
Pm sent Ben.

Unfortunately the coil packs I bought and changed didn't solve the issue so having to drive it all the way back to the garage where I bought it from for them to look at. Same code keeps coming back and not sure what it is. Catalystic bank 1. PO420. efficiency below threshold, lower limit reached.
Either your cat is not working as it should or an 02 sensor is playing up, more likely the latter I would think.

Bank 1 is the 1st O2 sensor between the turbo & cat.
Sounds like O2 sensor is on it way out mate.

Is that likely to be causing the issues I have then?
benny.
You need to get someone to scan it & watch the reading to see if its on its way out & go from there mate.

Is this garage an Audi specialist? So spoke to the technician at the garage where my cars at hopefully getting repaired and he seems to think because there's a sports cat on the car the sensors will be hit and miss sometimes which is likely to trigger a fault now and again but Shirley when you put a exhaust system on a car with a map (ABT) then any extra air flow / exhaust gases will get ironed out. He seems to think the sensors are fine but there's no way I'm taking the car back noing the engine light will still come on now and again. I'm guessing the only way round it is to put a standard exhaust back on or get a proper tuner to map it and filter out any issues.
If that was the case it would have been playing up as soon as you got it. If the symptoms have only recently manifested then it’s going to be the sensor. If the map and sports car were fitted at the same time the map would have been tweaked to suit. In fact does a sports cat even need any changes to a map? I think it’s only a de cat that would need mapping out.
