I have seen some comments about on a Facebook RS3 Forum about people using RS7 Plugs in their RS3? I mean does it really make that much difference to a brand new Facelift RS3?!. Just wondering why anyone would bother, im sure the RS3 ones are designed to cope sufficiently?

c2wak.

Just stick to the OEM plugs & change them at the recommend intervals.

As you say the stock plugs tick all the boxes & a bit more.

I'm running the OEM plugs on a stage 2+ but changing them at 10k instead of 19k.

I recently went from OEM to one step colder plugs with my Stage2+. The car also had a big service for gearboxes and haldex etc at the same time, but to me the car felt much better and stronger afterwards.

So i got a DMS Map which they claim about 490bhp (yet to be setup on the rolling road), get my Decat next week, whats next to up it a bit more then? They dont evaluate in Stages. They just map it based on the hardware. So what would i need to get more out of it next? Intercooler and Upraded Fuel Pump?

The intercooler is a must from the word go as the OEM one's an't much cop & decatting/aftermarket down pipe does help things along.

On the 8Ps replacing the HPFP just gives it more fuel in the mid range, top end the fueling on mine was fine.

As for spark plugs speak to your tuner & go by his recommendations mate.

Hey James, which spark plugs did you use? Can't get original plugs here.

Thanks,

Ed

I won’t be able to check my paperwork until the weekend mate. It was done by Awesome Gti so they may be able to advise in the meantime.

Can't you get the spark plug from your local Audi dealer as you would for service parts or by post from the usa mate ?

Dell,

I was away on a golfing trip hence my late reply.

The local Audi dealer does not have any parts for the RS3 as it is not sold here. I have the only RS3 on the island. Getting plugs from the USA is an option but I usually try to get after market parts locally if they are recommended.

Thanks for your reply.

Hey Guys,

After being quoted a ridiculous price for OEM spark plugs from the dealer here I spoke to my tuner and we removed the plugs and replaced with NGK Iridium LFR7AIX (2309).

Running for over 2000 kms and all is well. My PFL RS3 is on Stage 1 APR.

How do these compare to original?
Are they the same heat rating etc?
Also are they actually listed as fitting the RS3?

Same as OEM plugs... no issues, didn't even have to adjust the gap

Not listed for RS3, and as Dell said... same heat range.

I went into Audi today and bought some new plugs. Part number listed for my 2018 FL RS3 is 06K 905 601 M .These are different to the ones I used in my PFL engine, they are apparently the same plugs listed for the RS7 and are one heat range colder.

ECS Tuning list them as a plug upgrade for some other cars too (see link below).

The plugs I bought from Audi this morning......

Mines due plug within the next 1000 miles.
Had always planned on sticking to oem and probably still will if the NGK above aren’t listed for RS3.
The NGK are half the price though!
