Here's the screenshots of a couple of the Dragy results for my car mentioned in my recent post above. These were actually done a few weeks back during the hot weather period but I did a run in the morning and another a bit later in the evening.

I have posted the 1/4 mile time and I have also included a 100 - 200 kph from the run I did later that day. I know the quarter mile time is not too bad considering the hot weather and it was another unimpressive 1.8sec 60ft launch (cant seem to get below this yet) but I was curious as to how the 7.5sec 100 to 200 time compares to other performance cars. Note: My car only runs only 99RON fuel (Tesco Momentum) so it was difficult to find real comparisons as so many people tend to run their RS3's on higher octane race fuel or E85 to claim the faster times.

I did find a German tuning company that was tuning the new RS5 and had V-boxed the before and after results which I found very interesting, I have posted a screenshot of their 100-200 time below.

Very impressive figures.

I presume the RS5 was running a tuning box?

The current gen ecu is proving hard to crack so it won't have been mapped. Triple encrypted is the rumour. Doesn't bode well for future RS cars and mapping imho as the B9 has been out for 18 months and still maps not possible.

Yes, hence my comment. And yet they call it stage one - Which in my books it isnt, a tuning box always seems to be stage 0.5. Impressive times though.

When we were at REVO in April, they had spent well over 100 hours trying to crack it - When they or any of the mappers do, I’m sure it will be impressive stuff :-)

My FL car had been running the MRC custom map (sort of a stage one and a half) for a couple of months now so I thought I would put it on the local dyno (Surrey Rolling Road) to see how it's running and check if everything is as it should be. It has the Forge IC fitted and larger HG intake pipe but I have not had the Milltek down-pipe added just yet.
Now that the weather is a bit cooler the car is feeling effortlessly quick with plenty of torque and this was proven this morning by the dyno results at 507hp and around 515lbs/ft (700nm). It ran 492 at MRC with the dyno cell ambient temp at 27 degC.
Recent Dragy results also showed the car performing well at 3.26secs to 60mph and the quarter mile in 11.2 with a really poor launch and loads of weight in the boot (60ft was a leisurely 1.8secs).
So I am pretty happy with that and the car is a fantastic daily driver. I have to admit that I am now struggling to justify the addition of the Milltek down-pipe which will enhance power by approx another 15ps and around an extra 20nm of torque. The costs to do this would be over £1K for the downpipe (I want to fit the 200 cell race cat version) plus around 4 hrs workshop time and a map tweak to optimise it - somewhere in the region of £1,600 in total. Probably going to opt to spend the money on suspension and brakes upgrades which will compliment the engine performance mods.

save your money mate and get the switchable maps put on. You’ll gain 30-40 ps on racefuel

MRC have also been trying to crack the RS4/5 ECU but the triple encryption has thwarted efforts so far. There was rumour of a German tuner that had ‘made progress’ with the ECU but I suspect the like of ABT and MTM will have been using piggy back tuning boxes.
We should count ourselves lucky to have such a good accessible scope of tuning options for our RS3’s.

MRC have given me the option of trying the switchable maps (Mihnea is back at MRC in September apparently) but to be honest I would only want to use the race fuel map for Santa Pod (as you would). However, I am not planning to run the car at SP much more this year so the switchable map is not such a 'must have' for me at the moment. The price of the race fuel is another factor too and I know the extra speed will be addictive once you've tried it!

I think it's around £160 for one of these (spotted outside a dyno cell where the guy using it later claimed on his Facebook page that his car was running on pump fuel)

Impressive figures chaps!

MRC seeming to be bossing certain RS models at the minute.

Perhaps the slower 60ft times are due to the car almost wanting to catch up with the power of that makes sense. Did you trying just launching it in S rather than a full on launch? Wondered if doing that would feed the power in a bit better.

The 60ft has been consistently 1.8secs which has really annoyed me........mainly because I said at the beginning of owning the FL car that I was not going to mess about with DSG maps this time. Guess what?

In comparison, my friends MRC stage 1 car with stock DSG software is getting 1.68sec 60ft one after the other.

The traction control is also super sensitive on the FL car and it seems the best drag results are with the TC switched completely off (long 5 second press).
