If you were wondering how a new M2 would stack up against the RS3 Saloon in a drag and rolling race, here's the answer! Courtesy of Autocar and Youtube.

Is it too modern compared to a mini estate car for you?

Sorry Sportback owners. 😂

After seeing Tony’s RS3 saloon at the meet a few sundays back I’m kinda won over on them. First one I’ve seen still and it did look and sound good. But it’s a sport back for me any day though.

The guy in the video said that it wasn’t getting away anymore from the M2, what if this was a real life B road scenario and said road was wet and damp🤔

I'm just looking into this, If you use the share link on youtube it works however if you cut and paste the Url it doesn't.

Edit: Try to use the 'add link' button when you are posting and it works for now too.

**Further edit: I think I've fixed this, URL links weren't allowed and I've changed that now so let me know how you go on.

Both nice cars lets be honest but id still rather have the Audi so i can use the power the majority of the time.

If your window salesman is driving an M2 you’re paying too much...

evo magazine recently reviewed an M2 vs RS3 saloon on wet welsh B roads. They conceded that the Audi was quicker but the M2 won the test. So predictable. All these journos who seem to think that the ability to oversteer a car is something that we tap into on every commute. Sadly the real world ain’t like that. For me the M2 looks bloody average and no where near as easy to live with as the Audi. Not to mention that in the hands of a mere mortal the Audi would slaughter the bmw on road or track. If only it came with a manual option.

As an aside, Dan Prosser (in the autocar video) used to work at evo magazine and gave the RS3 saloon high praise at the Oman launch event. It was that review that sold me on one in fact. Subsequent reviews have been far less flattering. But I feel like the standard of the magazine has dropped so I’m not too fussed. At least I keep telling myself that!

Oh no I got a very good price indeed, for the amount of windows and doors all with smart locks.

Back on thread I hated the car inside, just not as nice as my RS

I’m a big bmw fan. Have been since I was a kid. But the m2 is a huge disappointment. No carbon roof or m mirrrors. Same seats as a 235i and no quicker in a straight line and about 4 colours to choose from for £50k.

The M2 competition that will replace the m2 this year will be much better. It has a detuned m3/4 s55 engine rather than the n55 from the 135i.

The RS3 is a much better car.
