Ok maby i am doing this all wrong ... well i dont know i used to be able to put the car in either M or S press the Sport button, step on the brake and floor the accelerator..... and boom i am off.

Since the engine rebuild i never tried it and well when i did Nothing :-( now i am wondering is something not plugged in or is there something else i have a elm327 unit that can scan and check fault codes there was nothing . Or should i get the dealer to check.

Have you pressed and hold the esr button button for like 10 seconds?i seem to remember esr goes off first and then asr, gear myst be in sport. Foot on break, mash the throttle then lift off break when your ready.

Left foot on the brake.
Gearbox in sports mode.
Sports button on.
ESP switched off by a single press & showing so on dash.
Throttle flat to the bulkhead/floor.
Release brake.
Don't lift throttle.
BANG your off πŸ‘

Nope does not work i tried the gearbox in sport mode with sport button pressed.

Last time i did this i could engage it with sport button and car in Manual mode.

Worked in sport as well previously.

Will check just now when i go home what i get on the display when sport button is pressed.

I only remember seeing sport mode on.

Hi all

Took my RS3 to the drag strip today and in doing so took her launch control v-plates.

First time through, worked a treat (other than the excessive delay when you lift off the break and it thinks whether or not to go...).

Then second time, did everything exactly the same (car in Dynamic & this gearbox in Sport, traction control held down long enough to turn it off completely, foot held on brake then accelerator). But this time it crapped itself like it normally would would you apply brake and accelerator in normal modes (ie it just killed the throttle).

On the third run it did the same thing, so I released the throttle and then buried it again and low and behold it worked.

Anyone else had this?? Am I doing something wrong??

I just do as above sport mode engine and gearbox, single press of traction lift foot on brake right foot buried on throttle watch the boost build and then let foot off brake

Not the driveshaft, there is a chance you can shear the bolts. Not really an issue when the car is standard though.

Kev.

On early RSs they did have prop shaft bolt failures, there was a DSG update which lowered the electronic torque control value on launch.

There was also a upgrade cardinal/prop shaft once one broke under warranty.

I've ARP prop shaft bolts fitted to mine, there about Β£90+fitting.

It’s fighting against the hill hold assist. Mines does this too. Make sure you have it turned off (button under centre console/armrest)
