Has anyone fitted these, or can recommend an alternative?

Hi guys, I’m suffering terribly with clunking on acceleration and deceleration and Audi have told me it’s completely normal. I think differently and think it down to the mounts, I have already fitted the dogbone insert.
Has anyone fitted these, or can recommend an alternative?

Thanks
Arkious.
I think Duke3D bought one & it didn't fit our RSs but 034 may have now sorted it

The part No they quote to replace is not for ours as we use a 8P0 199 555 A gearbox mount mate.

Worthing Audi did tell us it was the top mount on the passenger as they quoted us a ridiculous price (again no surprises) we ordered the parts from TPS.

We also have the same problem! (No surprises that I am having issues with the RS3!)

Danielle.
Audi quoted £330 all in to replace both the front drop links @ £70 each on my brother-in-law's 8P A3.
I replaced them for £57 all in from TPS & took 1hr using a trolley jack !

My other half will fit the parts when the car comes back. He doesn't trust their able to do them without messing up.

It could be the top mount but I'd be surprised if it's not the main transmission mount as this is a common failure on the 3.
As you'll already have read there's no suitable replacement that won't dramatically increase NVH so replace with genuine OEM

Audi are referring to the suspension top mount which requires dropping the strut out, a much more costly and labour intensive job than doing the front drop links. It'll also require alignment check afterwards to ensure everything's right.

Matt.
In a workshop it's a piece of piss,4 bolts & disconnecting the ARB drop links to the shock, then spin off the top mount nut & you don't even need a spring compressor for these shocks.
1hr a leg is all it takes on my garage floor !
I've never got my standard cars geometry checked afterwards unless I've had a problem as there's no play in the suspension units unlike the old MK1/2 Golf.

Now I know where it’s coming from, I’m intregued to know how to reduce it. I don’t mind a bit more NVH if it didn’t sound so clunky when on and off the throttle :/

Bugger, thanks for the heads up. I’m presuming there is no alternatives or powerflex inserts for ours, you all just using new OEM ones? Is it the dogbone that’s worst or the main mounts?

Check the dog bone itself as that may be faulty mate.

it got checked by Audi's master tech yesterday and got told it was ok. I had a good chat with him and another tech about the issue and he said the only way you could improve it is by fitting a more ridged mount.
I know this isn't the bushing but I wonder if this would improve the situation coupled with a dogbone insert?

That one doesn't fit our cars, i was asking 034 about it. Also they say they are working on the engine and transmission mounts for the dsg cars.

That would be brilliant!
In the mean time I think im just going to remove the dogbone bush insert and replace it with the replacement bush that 034 do. I am still sure something is a miss though and might take it to another dealership to see if they think its acceptable. It does quiet down once its warmed up but i'm not convinced everyone's sounds as clunky when your on and off the accelerator, especially when they told me the mounts are OK

The only other aftermarket ones I have seen are Black Forrest Industries, you get 2 different durometer inserts. I am looking for a solution as my gearbox mount has started to clunk when I put it in drive, seems more pronounced since I fitted the 034 dogbone insert as well.

I don't mind a bit more NVH, there was a nice amount more by just fitting the 034 intake and it feels more... 'connected'
But inserts or solid bushes I don't mind, just need something to make it better haha
