Hi guys I’m wondering if you can help. I had a new wheel bearing put on the car but I’m getting some noise from it. This was supposed to be an genuine bearing but on further investigation I think it may be an aftermarket part and I’m wondering if this has failed. It looks like a *** part but I’m not sure if that is indeed a genuine Audi part or not. TPS say the RS3 requires a heavy duty bearing so the likes of an a3/s3 bearing would be completely different. I did wonder at first if that was the issue. Any help here would be much appreciated. Thanks

If it's a genuine Audi part it'll be stamped with the vag rings/vw logo somewhere.

It's most likely same manufacturer but just not Vag branded

An S3 bearing would fit but it'd alter the distance the wheel sits in/out, so I'd check that too.

Thanks for that mate. I think you could be right and this manufacturer seems to have a good reputation. The mechanic reckons it’s tyre noise so I’m going to try and borrow a set of wheels with road tyres. Both my sets of wheels have semi slicks on them. Iv tried both on and it makes the same noise but it didn’t sound like this before the bearing went on which leads me to believe it’s the bearing causing the issue. Trying different tyres would probably be worth a try just in case
