Firstly it’s nice to hear someone who is genuinely happy with their new RS3 and is not getting issues with it. I will be interested to hear if you get any little niggles with it in the next couple of months.

I doubt your issues is limited to Glasgow, but I’m interested to hear what type of cars want to race you.

Bagshot.

Yes it does happen & they don't give up at getting burnt not once but twice when having a go !
.
They just see it as a scalp to be had.

Some owners have debadged there RSs to catail such behavior.

Maybe having roof rails help the car blend in but I rarely get this at all. Car is still badged, too.

Mine is de-badged from the factory, hardly had anything like that in over 2 years. Car is mostly ignored!

I've had a few boy racer-ish types who knows their hatchbacks, but they're usually in a Ford of some sort of a Chav BMW. At the end of the day, they know the capability of the RS3, but they do it simply because they can.

I usually give it a little splurt, leave whoevers kissing my bumper in the dust, then ignore them, just so you know that they know ;)

I welcome any challenge, so long as it's got 400bhp+ or is capable of achieving it with mods!  Anything less I don't waste the Vpower!

I've found with the RS6 the hot hatches tend to give it some respect, it's actually Porsche owners and super car owners that like to have their asses handed to them ;)

The Porsche owners really really don't like it where as most you get a thumbs up and not stupid weaving through traffic.

Followed an RS6 once, kept well behind it, when he put his foot down the traction was spitting lots of loose crap out the back...

I find it's mainly S3 owners that act like Cock sockets, along with the odd R driver, not many BMW drivers around my area. I ignore them, too easy to get into a red mist situation.

I have also noticed a few people wind down the window on dual carriageways as I sweep past, so it must sound nice :)

I find my car does attract some attention some good, mostly..... and some bad , not very often.

It's surprising how many people have complimented it at the pump or in a car park, which is nice.... and even if it is Nardo (que Roy) there are a lot of people that seem to like it, .........

Apart from chav bating ....which is easy to do, and never rise to the challenge as I always like to drive with a ' nothing to prove' attitude, I have noticed the following types of cars tend to be the worst in terms of.... wanting to get one car ahead, even if it's a risk and makes no difference in terms of getting there any quicker, or not letting you out at a junction, or moving out of the way on the motorway, either in the outside lane, pooping themselves at 95, or centre lane hogging fools, just because they NEVER USE THE LOOSER LANE!
I do enjoy sitting at 65 in the 1st lane as they charge by trying to make a point....which I really don't know what it is...

Any S-line Audi, A3's and A4 rep mobile are the worst.....

S3's - surprises me tbh, would have thought they would have more knowledge and a bit of respect.... but I think they would really have had the RS3 if they could so have to prove that an S3 is just as good ...... we all know differently of course

Golf R's - see above S3 stereotype.....

BMW 1 series sales reps..... and any BMW with an M badge but not a proper M car.... they all want to try it on

Merc A class - forgot those..... AMG line go with the SLine lot..... all look and NO go.....

I find most Golf GTI drivers are very cool, and good drivers.... odd I know but maybe the sensible performance car of choice by nice people
Same also of proper M cars M3 M4 ..... and RS Audi's of course

Also felt/seen a bit of snobbery from Porsche cocksters , most are clueless rich twats, but those who 'know' don't mess as they will be shown up completely and look like fools in front of their girlfriends being blown away by a hatchback. ....

I see all this 'body language' and posturing in traffic and on the motor way, things never change, always someone who thinks they know best and have an attitude....... or is it maybe a complex As I said, I have nothing to prove and I won't let them ruin my day.......

i too suffer from S3/R drivers, generally ones that are modded and i can only assume they assume their stage 2 is faster than my stock looking RS3, except that's not the case and a couple of down shifts generally stops their assumptions :)

I usually see the interested R/S3 owners coming and assume they also know/recognise/appreciate the car as they would of had one over their car had they had the cash (and may well have one next!).

TBH in the real world with traffic and weather etc we all know an R or S3 would probably be just as quick but it's not the point...buying the "special" one has other merit points and feel good factor.

If they want to go further and "race" at the lights or otherwise just put the car into dynamic so the exhaust opens and the engine is fast idling...that engine noise and popping etc usually shows them why the RS is worth the extra coin. The other thing it does at the lights is get a muppet thinking you're going to go for it when it goes green...and then...just pull off normally.

You're likely to have an accident anyway if you race and what does it prove? I find it takes 2 to race so if you don't enter the contest they feel hard done by

The racing thing is damn dangerous too, recently it has led to deaths of innocent people so isn’t worth it in my opinion, the RS gets to 30 mph in the blink of an eye let alone 70mph.

Plus what does it prove ?

That an RS3 is faster than someone’s car you’ll never come across again.

Couldn't agree more mate, well said.

Leave it for the track or spirited drives to RS3 Fest.

I haven't really had this in the RS3 in Poland, the Scirocco seems to attract more attention with the morons to be honest.

Though there was one time, coming back from the airport in Warsaw on single carriageway, heavy traffic and some young guns in an old VW Passat estate glued to my rear bumper. Moved over for them to get passed and they did that. Then slowed me right down to 45kph... Big gap to the car in front of them, so of course at the next opportunity (spitting feathers at this point!) I popped into S and overtook them, to see they had ALL wound their wondows down to hear me! Once in front of them, got a couple of flashes from them and look in the rear view mirror to see them all laughing with their thumbs up! Wasn't spitting feathers any more hahaha!
