Visual inspection no, but you would need it mapped or lambda sensor extender to stop it tripping emmisions light

Just have the 2nd O2 sensor check light switched off.

MRC did mine after the OEM system was fully decatted. :)

Does anyone know if Forge warranties are transferrable to 2nd hand sales?

Forge discount their products by 15% a few times a year usually Easter, Summer and Black Friday Weekend so it's possible to get hold of a new Forge unit for £900 delivered down from their advertised retail at £1050.

Also, has anyone fitted an Airtec cooler to their RS3, the marketing bumf on performance increases sound very similar to Forge's claims and if you use RSOC101 in the discount code box, you can pick them up for £875 new.

There's also Silky's used Forge to consider at £800+ postage (£40-50??) to save a few pennies and beat the wait on the Forge if you're going down that path

Forge and Airtec look to be the only 2 options for Intercoolers in the UK at the moment but a couple available in the US and a few available in Europe.

Swaying towards an Airtec cooler now but would be keen to know if anyone has one fitted?

Forge warranties not transferable to 2nd owner but there been around for a number of years for the RS & the build quality is rock solid that's why they hold there 2nd hand value mate. :)

Yeah just seen that on the Forge site there, warranty is not transferable between owners and only applicable to the first original owner.

£800 plus postage was already ambitious on a 2nd hand part that cost £900-1050 delivered dependent when in the year it was bought. However, even more so now that it’s unwarrantied.

Realistically I’d say it was worth about £600 plus postage as a punt without warranty. For peace of mind and a warrantied cooler, Airtec at £875 and Forge at £900 if you can wait to their 15% off deals makes a lot more sense.

Intercoolers do fail, I’ve heard of a few Forge (non RS3) coolers fail before with leaks.

Could try eBay I suppose but then you get stung for about 15% in eBay/PayPal fees. Safest way to buy something online though with PP protection.

Years ago when i had my Mk1 TT i bought a 2nd hand forge intercooler. Turned out it had a crack in it which MRC discovered when doing a pressure test,it was sent back to tnem and replaced no questions asked!

Thanks T-800

That's the part number in theory, but it's not the one actually engraved on the downpipe from the parts I've found (same as the RSQ3).

Just wanna make sure.
