My car is 4 weeks old and the rear brake hubs, the edge nearest the discs, have started to rust.
Anyone else had this please and if so, did Audi rectify it?
Thanks.. 👍

Tried a product called POR15 on my 1st 8P RS 3 and yes it stopped rust but they just turn a crappy green/yellow colour
Best solution I’ve found is Gtechniq C5 which is meant for Alloy wheels, however I’ve found on my 2nd RS3 it stopped the turning rusty.
I also stopped using harsh wheel cleaners as I think these attack the rear hubs.

I've never used proprietary wheel cleaners after years ago trying to remove a set off seized on BBS RAs on a16v Golf were the owner had been using wonderwheels cleaner ☹

I've just got an email from my local dealer saying that they are going to paint mine but only as a will of good gesture as they're saying all of their new cars sat outside have rust.
Weird how my Q5 hasn't! 🤔😊

I wouldn't know and doubt it but it would explain why they haven't rusted.. 😂

Mark-Mac RS3 - Good choice to use the Hammerite Smooth, I had forgot that option.
The ones on my Land Rover were powder coated and seem to be handling the jet washing so far.

I would be lying if I claimed responsibility for thinking of it! Seen someone mention it on another forum and thought that’s the solution for me.

If so that's why they don't rust
Dell.
A friend had one and I remember looking at the hubs cause they looked totally different and non rusty.

Mine still look good at close to 2 years old. Regular washing is a must & on the very few times I've had to use a "wheel cleaner" it's always acid free.

Hammerite smooth paint, coated with gtechniq c5 and washed with bilberry alloy wheel cleaner
