it will be getting done, just wasn't sure whether it would be ok to drive on for a few hundred miles to get to MRC. I know I can get them to do it but id just like to know how to do it haha

I drove from Aberdeen to Mrc & it was fine, just drive sensible & try to keep it out of boost.

Keep us updated on if it's any good, I'll be honest it does look decent with the way it's packaged and the tool.

Arkious.

You will need a good vice to dismantle your fuel pump in as mine didn't want to unscrew when MRC fitted the autotec internals in mine  ;)

Its not that difficult to be honest & hopefully you don't have that same problem mate. :)

Remember to replace the O-ring at its base.

I have access to a good vice so hopefully I don't run into too much trouble!

I will get the replacement O-Ring and Tappet from Audi before hand, thanks for the heads up!

Last night as i came out of the local pub I could smell fuel near the car. I thought it was someone elses, got in and drove the 3 mile journey home. Upon getting out I could still smell it, only at the front of the car, nowhere else.

I popped the bonnet and had a feel about, there were no signs of a leak underneath but i felt it slightly wet behind the HPFP. Took it to Shark today who checked and confirmed there was a slight leak coming from the top of the HPFP. A new one has been ordered and will be fitted tomorrow (£250 via TPS)

What I want to know is, how can I find out if it was just the pump that had failed ? OR wether it was something to do with the VIS internals? Is there something to look for or anything that might help work it out? I dont want to fit the new one and then eventually put the VIS back in, if it was that causing the problem the whole time.

Thanks in advance lads

When mine leaked on the 8P it was coming from the Screw in sensor at the rear of it.

Seems unlikely that it would cause the pump to leak? But from what I can see, there are a few seals that are disturbed when fitting so could be one of those.

I’ve decided to put my kit up for sale as I have a wee one on the way, and not sure if I’m going to get the remap done in the near future so if anyone’s interested give me a shout.

Yes mine was leaking at the back of the top hex nut. New HPFP fitted and will leave it standard for time being.

Was yours not mapped to run with it? Will that not make the car run iffy?

The map was readjusted when the new HPFP was replaced mate. Went back to the previous file!
