Anyone tried E85 in the RS3? Do you have E85 in the UK?

They just dropped the tax on E85 in Sweden and raised the tax on petrol.

lower price and higher HP = :-)

As far as I'm aware we don't have E85 in the UK. Don't you need your car to be 'flex fuel' adapted for E85 for it to run properly?

We can buy E85 though from Demon Tweaks etc. Crazy expensive for us in the UK though! It also eats through rubber so you should really upgrade fuel lines etc if using it.

Ideally car should be mapped for E85 yes.

I'm going e85 in a couple of weeks - we only have pump 93 as our highest octane unleaded in Australia, but also have e85 at some selected service stations.

There are a number of RS3's (pre FL) who have been running it for ~6 months here.

One particular one with a TTE500 went from ~290awkw to ~330awkw and ran a 11.003 ET :)

Mileage is not nearly as good, but the increase in power offsets that con!

E85  is amazing fuel!! the tuning potential is out of this world, an Audi S4 B5 ran some of our turbos on E85 we only rated the turbos to 500hp and it made 550hp, (bending a rod soon lol ). closest thing to E85  for us in the UK would be to install METH as a cheaper option long term. Admittedly its not as good but see some serious gains when mapped in correctly.

Unfortunately our ECU's do not support flex

Would need to purchase another ECU if you were that way inclined :(

I'm already running WMI, but its acting more as a cooling advantage for my IAT's - Our summer is a killer; today and the next 3 days will all be ~40c ambient temperature and our cars are already notorious for heat soak :(
