Tial Q bov and elbow supplied by iabedindustries and the boss was welded on by J.Fab Welding and Fabrication.

The rest was dodged by me.

Drives as it did before, no ill effect of using vacuum for the dv or going to atmospheric.

Sounds nice and subtle on low boost, sounds good on high boost. However i’ve had to remove the insulation from the bonnet and the rear engine bay seal so I could make sure the valve was working while driving as the RS3 engine bay sound proofing is impressive to say the least. Can now hear the filter and more engine noise as well which is perfect.

I still need to extend the wiring for the old electronic dv and either hide it away or resistor it out to tidy it up.

Nnnnnnnnoooooooooo - what a waste of money! It would have been far better to put that money towards a proper performance enhancement, rather than something that just draws unnecessary attention to yourself.

Good job it was only a few hundreds pounds and not 80k on a Granda mobile.    As you say, each to their own.

bazf.

I wasn't going to make any comment but as you bought my name into it i won't disappoint you mate.😝

I'm quite sure the cone airfilter you fitted really helps your bhp with the vast amount of hot air it sucks in ! 😂

Only if the engine requires it & cool air is even better 😁

Correct me if I'm wrong wasnt it you who was worried about high inlet temperatures ?🤔

Yes the engine requires lots of air.  For the same volume of air yes you are right but volume(flow) beats air temp i'm afraid.

Once it's been compressed it's going to be HOT anyway...

bazf.

Standard airbox supports nearly 600bhp so its not a problem on the oem turbo or a tte500.🤔

So you get the best of both worlds 🤣

i do love the sound of a BOV but i would never fit one unless i went huge turbo/big boost to use the BOV in the design it is made for.

DV's serve a very good purpose, to help recirculate boost once letting off WOT to help complete boost lose and keep the turbo spooling

either way get a video up :)

That's nice, but I'd rather have my intake set up than OEM all the same.

I've got a decent IC that does a good job of reducing the air temps when it's at full tilt.

Yes you are right i was complaining about IAT's but if you remember correctly the cause of the high temps is heat transfer from the head not the open cone.   Mine and every other 2.5tfsi OEM intake or otherwise experience the same high temps when there is reduced airflow.

Being a MAP based car i had to fit one.  It's not loud, it's very subtle in fact and no louder than recirc DV on a 20vt.  Audi sound deadening is immense.

I can honestly say there is no difference in the way the car drives which i was worried about.
