Unfortunately I was around during the 80s.....

Sorry about the attachment. Just the illuminated door strip and the Audi sport light when the door is open. Cool.

First week with the FL for me.

I wouldn't go back with the internals, the dash is very space age, maybe a bit toooo busy though ?

Sound wise, yes, majorly quiet in comparison to the 8v, but does have some nice features to it - good bark off the line usually.

No pops and cracks on downshift which is a major negative. Good burble from the 5 cylinder at low speeds.

Certainly quicker.

Gear shifts more rapid.

Steering nicer, I don't think that's just the new rubber as I had recently put new rubber on my old one.


Lots of gizmos for me, parking camera, lane assist all sorts of safety stuff, how boring.

RS design package with sweet carpets and seats.


Can do a proper review if anyone fancies it.
