Hmmm

Sort of positive yes...

However he is spot on regarding one thing, the price
Bonkers amount to pay out when there are other better cars around if you are spending 55k.

Agree on the price when I was looking mine was coming in at 53k with just a couple of necessary options but I think the positives out weigh the negatives t800.

Your right tho 55k puts you into r8 911 territory

It’d be easier to buy a low Mileage PFL 8V fit the VC and Steering wheel then you’d be pretty much there without spending £££££’s for pretty much the same car......

Aren't there more differences than just those 2 items? Lighter engine, less under steer & a little written about item about quicker engine warm up from cold. Perhaps the front brakes are different with no squeal problem & proper handed discs - not heard anything yet about the FL brakes.
Agree about the price - I had selected similar spec to my 8V & it came out 5/6k more which is about 13% increase in less than 2 years (21 months), which is more than 4 times rate of inflation!

With this understeer issue that our pfl suffer from not that I have noticed from mine, do you think that the 26kg weight saving on that new aluminium crankcase fitted to the fl would resolve this or is there something else that is set up differently with this car to our one's? Be quite interested to know.

Just thought, perhaps I have not noticed much understeer as I might not be pushing the car as much around the twisty' food for thought 😎

It’s not getting any better reviews than the model it replaces....most reviews still have it at 3 1/2 stars

Yes lighter engine and supposed better handling characteristics
But as some owners already know, the earlier 2015 car can be sorted out in that dept by a few choice mods.

The brake discs maybe different but no one can say for sure yet if the old problems have actually been eradicated for good.

Never thought about it like that mate. Only gripe I have is that I'm not to bothered with the virtual dash as crazy as it sounds I like the good old needle dials, not to much colour and images going on to distract me😎 Glad I bought this one now

Ta t800 - after some 8 months of eager anticipation & looking forward to a new car the muted exhaust, price & indifferent attitude at Audi has put me off buying the FL - and it was almost a hat trick of RS3,s!

Apologies was not my intention.....

However the direction in which Audi are taking the RS cars doesn’t appeal to me any more.

Dealers don’t help with the over all buying / owning experience either.

If it’s not significantly better than what it’s replacing then what’s the point paying out 55k when that sort of money could get you into something even better still......

On the contrary, the FL version seems to be hitting 4's across the board now. But on the topic of expenses, the FL RS3 is extremely expensive, and I can see some considering a wiser option to mod previous models for the same desired effect.

Not all reviewers though James....

Most just seem to get giddy about the straight line speed, which as in the PFL is mental, but it’s about more than that to me.....
Don’t get me wrong the FL RS is a great car no doubt, however with the promise of much front end revision work to shed weight and a revised engine this new one should be getting better reviews, but the ones I’ve read still have it as not quite the full package yet, which at 50k+ depending on spec is a little disappointing.

To me it seems any current owners of the 8V can feel pleased their car is just as good or even better in the Dynamic sound stakes.

Imho the reviewers get too het up about track performance. On the road the car is phenomenal and I'm sure the FL will be the same. I said at the time that the PFL was too cheap and now it seems Audi agree!

Going by the turn out at Castle Combe 9 on track in all ☹ why do people knock the handing off all the RS3s yet never explore it in a safer than road environment ? 😕

Your guess is as good as mine. Any Sunday mornings I have free I get up that bit earlier and head out on some lovely country lanes from Hainault through to stanstead and after each drive I find out that I'm able to push it that little bit more around the bends than I did last time. It's always letting me know what I can and can't do with this car before I run out of luck and to think just how much more that car is cab able than I am. It truly is a magnificent bit of kit with that incredible turbo 5 pot that sounds insane after 3000rpm that fantastic sports exhaust cracking and popping on up and downshifts, AWD and all wrapped in a 5 door hatch that can cart 4 other people along plus luggage, the best car I've owned to date and may it last😎

And don't forget mate, of the 9 of us taking part in the track time it included an S7, RS4 and an S3.

It's the perfect opportunity for people to drive the car quickly in a safe and legal environment and I'm amazed more members don't take advantage of it.

I say safe environment, that's until datsilver cooks his brakes and has to cut inside you coming into a chicane to avoid rear ending you!!

Sorry Dave, couldn't resist that 😉.
