Hi Everyone,

My name's Caleb, I'm from Guernsey, I collected my RS3 on Friday and couldn't resist grabbing some quick shots this evening

(Just seen that they've been resized automatically and the quality is not too great)

Thanks for the warm welcome. We absolutely love the colour, and in all honesty it was not on our replacement car agenda.

I come from a many years owning two very fast cars, an Evo X, which I bought from new and owned for 6.5 years. It was reasonably modified and  an incredibly quick car, especially on track. Prior to that I have a well-known Nissan Pulsar GTi-R which I owned for 8.5 years, it was extensively modified and I also started up and ran the owner's club for the majority of that time.

Anyway, back to why it wasn't on our agenda. Essentially we have a dog now and my wife's A1 wasn't big enough to carry him in the boot so we looked at a new Q2 and new A4 Avant S-Line, both nice cars but both lacking different features that we wanted. I introduced the RS3 as a curve-ball option as it was fully spec'd with what we wanted, but the 'downside' being the performance. However, we took it for a drive and I used the trip computer to demonstrate that in Comfort mode it was provided MPG much closer to the A1 than my wife's previous car, an X3 3.0 Sport.

Once she drove it she was sold and the deal was done.

Despite a track record of modifying cars, our current intention is to keep it standard as it's a family car (though so was my Evoke X!).

My biggest plan is to take some awesome pictures of it  :D

Ps. the blue looks so awesome due to using flashes to light it up. I actually had to tone it down on a couple of the photos as it was sooooooo bright and almost looked fake.

You can always tell a car that will look awesome when using flash by going outside at night and viewing it with a torch, it really brings out the colours.

Welcome to the OC Caleb - your car looks great.

Check out the RS3 fest which is taking place in September this year, there's a section on the site specifically about it.

Thanks Duke, apparently they don't show up on UK speed cameras as they reflect back the light as glare. Apparently, though...

What colour is that Caleb?

It's Sepang Blue. Pretty cool under lights when you see the full pearl effect.
