Why ?

On a Road car......you'll stop sharpish yes, but what about the person behind you who can't ?

Prepare to spend ££££ on them

There are some 8V ones available but there £4K and that's going cheap... normally around £6k.

Don't have but I've heard that they have good stopping power and noticeable less dust.

Aoon M has recently fitted front AND rear ceramics! Not sure on costs he paid however most are universal fit but I think there are slight variations on correct fitment for the '3'

You're going for more power when you've got grey Audi RS3 MRC TUNED stage 3 525 BHP / 733 TORQUE

Wow!

Think you'll need a whopping great landing/aerobrake 'chute, not ceramics  :)

Speaking from experience they are worth every penny, not sure how I will go back to crappy RS Brembo steel discs if I were to move on and can say that having has two consecutive RS's and endured the pain of pad deposition, fade, soft pedal, naff OEM pads uprated hoses and fluid etc etc.

Had a run out with a friend in his stage 1 C7.5 S6 and after 3-4 heavy stops his car was struggling on even the lightest of pedal applications, mine was just getting warmed up and better.

Will you still be saying that when they need replacing and you get the bill ;)

I will Uncle because they work and I have no issues with them. On the RS4 I spent nearly £5k on discs, pads, lines etc including labour and they still were not ideal. On the RS3 I had spent £4k on pads, discs, calipers, lines and labour to try and get them where I wanted them. These just work and don't need replacing for some considerable time.

420mm for the ceramics and 390mm for the steels.

PG, I have to say the steels on my 6 work pretty well and not had a problem with them. I'd love a set of ceramics for the looks and lac kof brake dust but the C7 RS steels do a very good job indeed.

340bhp to 525 bop is approx 50% increase in power which does not equate to an equivalent increase in acceleration or speed - it will only give marginal increases to both which will give only marginal increase in momentum/inertia and therefore only requires a marginal increase in breaking performance. Which is similar in effect going from normal to fast road use or even track use.

Standard OEM braking systems, including most OEM 'performance' systems have difficulty in dealing with high temps and dissipation of high temps. You can try and mitigate this with types of pad, brake lines/fluid, cooling vents etc but these will only mitigate so much & usually not enough. The only real way to go for proper effective braking is the ceramic or equivalent route as P_G above is saying but the cost is difficult to swallow and its your choice as to how you drive and what is the most you want to get out of your car?

I've heard the C7/.5 steels are good, seen some B8 RS4 owners upgrade to them. Just know that against at C7.5 S6 their brakes were like butter after a few hard stops whereas the ceramics were just getting into their stride. Appreciate the RS6 brakes are beefier.
