Evening lads,

I have a problem with my rear screen wash spray, it doesn't work but the pump can be heard working.

So far I have tried to un block the spray jets with a needle, this didn't work. I then took off the plastic boot liner and popped the hose off of the 90 degree bend that is on the wiper motor and operated the rear window wash, still no screen wash coming from the hose itself.

Needles to say I'm stumped as to where to check next, not sure of the routing the hose takes from the pump. Any ideas would I be much appreciated.

Cheers
Mark.

Simple but worth asking... is there actually screenwash in there?

common problem the washer pipe gets blocked and the liquid drips into the pump.

Had a similar prob on my old S3. Took it to and independent Audi specialist who said the pump was ok but there was a blockage in the pipe and spent a whole day trying to find the blockage , even removing the door panels for access to the pipes. They still couldn't find the blockage so ended up leaving it !

On my latest RS3 the pump recently decided to stop working just before the MOT ! , they didn't say anything about it when I picked up the car but when I asked the tech he said there was a common problem with the pipes and they cleared it with the high preasure hose !

Maybe there is no filter in the pipes ??.

Most winters mine packs up as the pipe freezes to the rear washer somewhere and doesn't start working until the spring thaw.

Tried everything like high washer concentrate, using hot water in the bottle but once it freezes it takes ages to clear again

It happens when the weather is cold. The water jet freezes up.

Nope not in my case. Took the jet off the arm and checked it was clear. Pipe was frozen somewhere through the car.
