Looking good Tim.

I think there was one at last year's RS3 fest, but you don't see many that colour - very smart.

I phoned Jay up for a bit of car cleaning advice-what a nice guy. He boxed up a load of cleaning stuff for me(no wax allowed!) and got it despatched the same day. First wash tomorrow with new kit!

Hi Comfortably Numb-really pleased with the colour. I was looking for Nardo or white, but looking for the right used one can go on forever! I caught this one within a few hours of it being advertised on Autotrader and just decided to go for it without seeing it It. It's a great colour that looks ok even when absolutely filthy! Is there plans for another RS3 fest? Cheers. Tim

There certainly is 16th September at Castle Coombe, Wiltshire.

I think there were 47 RS3's by the time we got to Coombe along with some OC members who had chopped in the 3 for other models, Roy in his S7 and Mike in his RS6 for example.

Many of us met at various points on the way to form convoys culminating in a group meet 10 minutes from the circuit.

There's a specific thread relating to all things RS3 fest orientated, check it out for some great pictures and videos taken on the day.

Stick the date in your diary now buddy because it's not to be missed...

PS. Is that the Roy, who from various posts, seems to particularly love the colour Nardo? ;)

Yep - the very same.

We convoyed most of the way to and from Coombe last year and I can tell you the S7 is no slouch.

Obviously we destroyed him on the OC exclusive track time, but in fairness my RS3 was being driven by a semi pro rally driver!!

In all seriousness though he's a top bloke and I suspect most of his nardo sledging is tongue in cheek..

I was looking at S7's and 6's as with the initial depreciation, they are a great buy and in reality a bit more practical, space wise. I just had it in my head to get the 3! I also thought the mpg would be good-best of all worlds-I was wrong! So far, even driving at a steady 45-50 on my commute, trying really really hard, I am mid 20's.........oh well, it's worth it for that sound in dynamic mode and that lovely burning smell when you park up, whatever the hell that is?

That's a lovely looking car Steve. It's the colour I wanted, however I went with the Nogaro one as the whole package-mileage and spec was somewhere near what I was looking for-and I am very happy with the colour  :).  I was checking autotrader/pistonheads every day! I'll post some pics when it's cleaned-I've just ordered a load of stuff I have never heard of or used before-snow foam, lance, drying towel, furry mitt etc-it's starting to get daft as I also need to widen the garage doors as it wont bloody fit!.................my garage is the same Tim, RS lives outside now :( . Just finished washing mine &''yes'' i have all the above you mentioned. :D Like you i would have been happy with either colour, i just missed out on a grey one but this one came along a few days later.

Hi Steve-completed the first wash with all that stuff-3hrs!!!! Used some stuff called 'iron out', which reacts with iron residue from brake pads and turns it purple-cleans all wheels and discs-wonder if that will help with the intermittent low speed brake squeal???

Hello Tim.

a great car there mate stunning colour too.

As Numb says the 3 fest is a great day out and we certainly gave the cars a good testing on the way down.

Everyone is friendly and great banter here on the site.

Most questions you can ask will almost certainly get answered with some very clever and knowledgeable people here

Dont like Nardo, BUT in certain lights its ok but would be at the very very bottom of my colour choice of an RS ,,,,,,,

but having said that its only my opinion.

Dont listen to FATLAD  Dannyboy either ...

I might have a bit of grey but I'm NOT fat and I'm NOT bald !

Hi Roy. Seems like a really nice bunch of people on this forum.

I am loving the Nogaro, but very stressful trying to keep it mint using it as a daily driver!

Glad you are enjoying the S7-lovely car.

I see you get a bit of stick from time to time from your buddies on the site.......

Also, I'd be happy to be grey-I have a shiny, completely bald head  :( .

Cheers.

And its all meant in a light hearted way .   :)

The thing is Roy can take it as can many others on here.......

Now and again we get complete tools trying to cause upset and throwing toys out of the pram......

They tend to leave (usually imploding big style) or be shown the door......eventually.

Light hearted banter is exactly how it should be on a good forum! You always get the odd tool-absolutely no need for it (even if someone asks what seems like a daft question). Thanks for all the welcomes and glad to have the support and advice. I'll check out the forum for booking on the 3 fest.
