Track Time Questions

Couple of questions specifically aimed at the track time. Firstly, does anybody take out insurance to cover the track time and secondly does taking the car on a track invalidate the Audi warranty?
Cheers.

Either order a set of show plates to cover yours or remove the plates...... job done!
I'd always recommend track insurance, better safe than sorry for the sake of a few quid.

They investigated it by looking online and found footage of the guy screwing the nuts off it on a forum.
Safe to say they F****d the owner off.

Cover your plates with tape !
Your car will stand out like a sore thumb with all the RS3's Roy
You'd best cover the car with Duck tape and leave the plate

In the ECU, does it log data?
Like max speed, or any other indicators that could be seen by an authorised Audi 'Stealer' if they plug in for diagnostics?
If so, big speed when on a track could give the game away, but if no logging of any type then you are right, they wouldn't know it had been tacked/thrashed/driven really hard.....apart from the ruined brake disks if you are unlucky...
And, I found track day insurance quite expensive with my Exige, it put me off, and was slightly different as it was a second car, and was always going to be a track weapon, so different mindset to now where I have one car that does it all, interested to know what sort of quotes you guys have had, ......?
And..... if Audi biatch about the use on a track, then why does it have a built in lap timer, surly not for timing your trip to the office, or around the A4174 BristolRing ...or the long lap to pick up your Lamb RogonJosh....

Used Moris Insurance who quote online and easy to organise - to be safe!
My car has a noise from the front wheel on left hand bands still be investigated from new!
Lucky the track uses right hand corners!

Perhaps a blonde moment, do we need to wear a helmet for the track time? If so any other "protective" gear?
