As we know, the DTUK tuning box is advertised as compatible with all models of the same spec meaning you can sell it on, time and time again. I have the MTM M- Cantronic piggy back tuning box, and I wasn't told at purchase/fitment that this box is now only programmed for my car and cannot be sold on without an incurred cost of reprogramming it to another car. I have also read on the faithful interwebz, that the box is compatible to be sold on with no issues and the inncurred extra cost is to cover support on the box by MTM itself...?


I don't really know which is true, but I want to find out as I aim to go Forge IC and a flash map in the near future..

So I offer a suggestion, to those who aren't afraid to visit a rolling road (hmm who do we know has spent more time on RR's than anyone else... 😋)

Plan: you (car A), me (car B )...

Car A, stock run (i.e not tuned)
Car B, MTM run
(Swap out the box, it takes 5 minutes!)
Car A, MTM run
Car B, stock run.

2fold, this will directly compare stock to MTM with figures on the same dyno and conditions, and also confirm if the box can (or cannot) be sold and fitted without the incurred cost to MTM - let's put this to bed once and for all (unless someone's knows 1st hand and for a fact it can't be done?)

Anyone want to take up the offer? I'm in South Hampshire btw, but will travel if reasonable.

I have no idea! Hopefully someone can recommend a good place with a suitable dyno for our cars - haven't ever been on one before!

Appreciate as the threads were created very close to one another! The offer is still open, but also, I have emailed my sales guy to arrange a full scan on my car this Friday, or a soon as available, if you prefer to wait for the results.

So I think people are maybe a little cautious about putting the MTM on their car for a dyno run, so I alter the proposal slightly;

Identical cars (in terms of mk2 RS3), same dyno, so we can give a 1:1 comparison of the two cars-

Stock : Stock
Stock : MTM

At least this will settle my own curiosity and hopefully scratch someone's itch to dyno their car.

I am prepared to travel within reason, but preferably Hampshire area.

after some googling and finally settled with "4 wheel dyno hampshire", 2nd hit came up surreyrollingroad. From the read up this looks to be an ideal place and RR, and reasonable distance to my location. Shout up guys and I'll make an enquiry if there's interest.
