Black tail pipes

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I cannot for the life of me remember where.....
Can you polish the pipes on the black styling package? Mine has some carbon deposits on the bottom lip and I want to get it off. I was going to use some metal polish but I'm worried it would take the black off??

Don't use metal polish on the black pack exhaust tips. You can actually polish them back to silver as I found to my peril as they are anodised. With the new set I bought I've coated them 3 times with G-Techniq C5 and now just use AG Custom wheel cleaner on them to get rid of the carbon deposits

In the display cabinet of many Audi showrooms.
Bath confirmed the price and then replaced them FOC warranty.
Assume its the heat that makes them go off so quick (3k mls).

Just to report back on this and advise the regime of GTechniq C5 and cleaning with AGCustom Wheel cleaner agitating using one of my wheel woolies is doing the job admirably. No pitting or excess carbon build up and they are are shiny as when I first fitted them.

I tried some AG custom wheel cleaner at the weekend but it wouldn't budge the carbon. Maybe I need to use something a little harsher then maintain with that! Thanks for the advice

I suspect if I hadn't prep'ed them with C5 the CG Custom Wheel Cleaner wouldn't work on its own.

I'm going to try some AG SRP at the weekend to see if that works any better.
