Hi all ,

Looking to replace a lost wax , I have always used zymol glasur.

Any recommendations I want some this with a glossy finish and will last 2/3 months like the zymol

I'm a bit old school when it comes to car care and technology has moved on since the zymol waxes I know.

Many thanks

For cheap long lasting and a nice shine fusso soft 99 wax is good just apply very thinly and buff quite quick panel at a time. More premium though not sure on durability swissvax best of show is quality finish. Smaller 50ml tub goes a long way and saves a bigger outlay.

Stuff like vics concours leaves a very wet finish and I hear with a few layers last for a few months.
Another idea is to look for a sample pack and try lots diff ones I got a wax stock box of auto finesse waxes about a dozen 30ml samples cracking for bout 50-60 quid

If I was still waxing, it would be Swissvax Onyx.

Easy to use, doesn't powder off , can be put on anything without staining including black
rubbers , lasts and beads well, and can be put on / buffed off in the warmest of days with direct sunshine and the pot lasts for years.

You don't need all that to clean your kitchen? Is that hair shampoo I see in there too?

Collinite 476  is the most durable wax you can get, I've used both that and their 915 marque d'ellagance wax with good results and whats more its cheap to buy.

Definite  :up_it:  for Collinite.

I have used this over the top of other waxes (normally Zymol) for the winter. Like OP I am old school and not keen on Polymer finish although been impressed with the results that can be got from GTechniq seal. Just takes away the detailing fun...

Having said I am old school that Werkstat gave a good finish on my Evo VIII and recently used it on the GF's Juke. Was recommended to me by Polished Bliss as good for the Japanese paint finishes.

choice will come down to a few things, but the colour of your car will be a massive one. If you have a car with a lot of flake, I've always found collinite and finish kare 1000p to mute a lot of flake and waste the aesthetics. But on whites the sterile look can really help add gloss. Application conditions is another big factor. If you are applying outside then you really want a product you apply and buff straight away, to reduce the risk of contaminants sticking to the residue.

All things being equal, and application in doors, my choices are:

Dark metallics-Blackfire wet ice over fire combo/ glare micro and pro (if you have machine)/ prima epic (if you have machine and inside work space)/ Artdeshine kotsos wax (if your paint is perfect and you like beading)

Warm colours-Blackfire again/ ADS again/ Glasur/ Victoria wax collectors

Silvers- Ads kotsos/ prima epic/ sonax PNS/ FK 1000p

If it needs to go over a glaze, or you want a product that fills and protect, glare or fusso does a good quick job of things
