OK folks here it is...... my thoughts on a fabulous day out in Wales

 

Am going to complete the whole route in the next week to check out some of the locations / timings so plans may change slightly  but here goes...... 

 

The proposed date is Sunday 12/6/16 starting from the Pondarosa Cafe, Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen. I suggest that we meet up from 9-10am, breakfast is fab at the Pondarosa (£5 full breakfast that will fill you up for the day!)  The Pondarosa do have rooms at a very good rate or there are planty of places to stay in Llangollen if you want to stay overnight on the Saturday night. Am going to do more research on this and will let you have the details asap.

Depart 10.15am to the EVO triangle. Start the EVO at Pentrefoelas about 10.45am, round the triangle at the same measured pace we took the Castle Coombe parade lap!

 

 

 

 

 

.......and then travel on towards Bala> Stop at Llyn Celyn layby to allow the Mk 1 brakes to cool down

 

Travel to Ffestiniog on the B4391 (awesome road) and then onto Portmeirion (Have to confirm the best route yet). Arrive at Portmeirion 1 - 1.30pm (TBC)

 

1.30 pm Lunch at Castell Deudraeth (which I am told gves you access to the Portmeirion village - Will check this out). The village is quite unique and well worth a walk around. I have stayed there a few times and it my most favourite place in Wales to be with great roads in / out.

Depart Portmeirion 3.30pm (ish) and drive back up through fabulous roads (Blaenau Ffestiniog Betws Y Coed, Capel Curig...) and arrive a final destination for coffee / tea (location to be confirmed - I'm checking out car park sizes!). about 4.30pm

 

Back to the A55 and homeward bound ......... (A55, M56 M6 Sorth or South)

Anyway that's what's proposed..... What do you think????? Please let me have comment's good , bad or indifferent   I won't be offended. 

 

Also could we start a list (in the usual way ... add your name and pass it on!) I will post up to date versions of the list as and when needed. I will need to book a table/ tables at the Brasserie, Castell Deudraeth so please let me know if you are a 'maybe'.  I think that's everything!
