Where did you drive one Russ? Have you driven a normal one for comparison?

I loved my stint in an RS6 test drive. Epic motor. I'd love one.
Next to try, given the opportunity is an RS7. Prices dropping like an anchor, and not many made.

I'm sure I saw the RS7 prices were dropping Roy. Big motor though.

I'd have an RS7 in a heart beat.
You can get em fully loaded for really good money. Don't know why that's the case, I'd have one as my next car

Yes, the RS7 never really seemed to catch on like the 6 and the 2nd hand values seem to reflect their unpopularity. There was a very highly specced one recently on another forum for what seemed like a bargain price but there were no takers and he has decided to keep it now.

Roy, the one you drove would have been a normal RS6 (unless it was in germany). This one is meant to be faster but when i ordered mine there were none available in the uk so I had to test drive a normal one. The 1st Performance demo cars started arriving at the UK dealers last /this week. Mine in is QC now so will probably be one of the 1st uk customer cars (I ordered the week the books opened).
But I've not seen any comparison of the normal one against the performance one yet hence why I asked if Russ had driven a normal one to compare. The standard makes more power than quoted and is quicker than quoted (like the RS3) so I'm wondering if this performance version is actually any quicker or if it is just quoting the true figure rather than the normal underestimate.

Kev, most people don't like the styling. And they cost more than the RS6 new.

Kev, for 5k more than a well specced RS3 you could have had this 19000 mile RS7.bear in mind it had a list price of 112k!!
Dynamic plus is a 12k option which includes ceramic brakes, night vision is a 2k option, B&O speakers are £6300. Sunroof, the list goes on. And all for 55k. And didn't sell.

I loved my A7 and for the first year I was a rare sight on the roads around here. When it came to the RS, I just couldn't ignore the more practicality that the 6 gave and as Mike points out there's a fair price hike. That being said, discount is bigger. All that being said, I wouldn't rule on out in the future :)

I think the RS7 polarises opinion, not dissimilar to an M6 in a lot of ways - hence they make great used buys.

On original topic, I'm looking forward to comparing mine with the Performance variant to see how noticeable the change is

If I hadn't ordered the 3 buddy - and known about the 7 - then I'd have seriously thought about it. Although finance would have added another 10k minimum to that price.
But that 1 hell of a cheap super car

In a simple word "NOPE" 😂😂. No one has that sort of cash spare, pay off my RS3 in 3/4 years time and use that as a deposit and then they may have come down into my budget hopefully 👍🏻👍🏻

I believe I had a look at the RS7 Mike Fish posted a link to through the dealership that were selling on his behalf as they are across the road from where I work. The car was nice but it didn't have sports exhaust which for me a '6 or a '7 needs and there were several bits wrapped so whilst it looked like it had the carbon interior and exterior pack it didn't. It also had dynamic steering which I loathe and when looking at other cars around, the mileage is high compared to them and a premium was being sought for the fact it had the dynamic pack and I personally was a little wary of the servicing history as it appeared to have done 1200 miles in a day between two visits to Audi .

The facelift will hit the values as well. Not sure it is still for sale and the owner is keeping it.....

Poole Audi.

Have been in a normal RS6 and was surprised how noticeable the difference was! Mainly in the gearing. The blue stitch in the seats and other interior enhancements made it feel that bit more special too
