Evening all :)

My name is Kev (kevlar), I'm 25 and from oxfordshire.

I picked up this my2010 phantom black S3 sportback black edition on may 15th

She has;

Panoramic roof,

Two tone leather seats and door cards

Rnse ami/mmi

Optical front and rear sensors

Black edition

Folding mirrors.

I do love the car but I felt it needed a bit more punch and was debating spending 9k on mods so after a long weekend of debating and 6 weeks after buying I have just had confirmation that a px against a Daytona Grey Black edition RS3 is completed and she is mine at the weekend :)

The spec for the RS3 is;

Buckets!!

What more do you need!!

I am nervous about the stronic I must admit, I am a manual man through and through but unfortunately they no longer do manuals on the Rs series. But I have heard good things about the stronic an I am getting lazier with age so i think it might suit me!

Any owners come from manual and have any tips for using stronic?

I have only driven an automatic once and wasn't great at it! I find myself using the brake as the clutch and have no idea if that is the right thing to do?

Thanks and will upload pics when i have picked up the beast :D

Hello and thank you :)

Am I being nieve and mixing black edition with black optics?!

I meant Black grille, privacy glass, tail pipes, On the S3 I knew it as Black edition!

Ah I see you had me worried for a moment there!

I have to admit this has been a distance sale, I havn't even seen the car yet!!

However I know that any problems will be resolved should there be any, Should hope not though on a 2012 plate with 8k!

I had big problems buying an S3 from my local Audi dealer, went 4 hours otherside of country and bought from private dealer instead, again without even seeing it!

Long story short after a chat with Martin Sanders assistant due to my complaint they hoped I would come back into their dealerships as it were so any issues I am confident will be swiftly addressed.

Really have to take my hat off to them for the customer service and goodwill I received in the end!

I am sure I saw your's on the Audi Uk site!

I was looking thorugh them all going straight to seats and looking for buckets lol.

They are not for everyone though plus the lower risk of theft etc

I Bet you can't wait! Im due to collect sat or sun and the end of the week can't come quick enough!!

Looking forward to seeing your pics :)

I don't mate, I live about 90miles away near Oxford!

It was the closest one with the right spec and the guys there seem a good bunch!

Like a nice drive to adjust to the car after collecting as well :)

Are you out that way?

Ive seen and sat in your car the buckets are very comfy and look better than the standard seats but i have an elderly parent who relies on me for transport  so they arnt practical for me .They are  large dealership at Tamworth part of the Jardine motor group its a huge site with loads of top cars and good staff. You might see my old S4 there on the weekend when you collect your car its on the website already its phantom black with the black and silver super sports seats.Heres a couple of photos of mine with yours parked next to it.

Well not a million miles from Tamworth, across the border in Shropshire.  :)

I know Oxford quite well having served at Abingdon when it was RAF... B)

Thanks for sharing the pics :)

Does look meaner with the Alu pack!

Will keep an eye out for your S4!

Really are top blokes, have been a pleasure to deal with compare to my local.

Said they can't get enough of them at the moment, 4 last month, we must be the first 2 already this month!

Roll on the end of the week for both of us!!

Ah Dalton barracks!

Lived in Abingdon for 22yrs, well scabadabadingdon we used to call it!

Used to run around the tank track/mud mounds at dalton barracks on little motorcross bikes when i was a lad.

Snuck in thorugh the back until we got kicked out, nost of the time the guys were sound and left us to it!

Think they have or are changing the name now, brize norton is a big place too live inbetween the two now. See some epic planes/jets flying past some days!

Yeah Dalton Barracks, at least it's still in use and not gone to wrack and ruin like several of the other old RAF Bases. The VC10's were still on the camp at the time as well, but slowly being robbed of parts and cut up.  :(  Apart from the 5 that escaped... :ambulance:

My wife served at Brize Norton, before moving north.

welcome kev to the Club!!!  :)

Ive been a pure manual enthusiast for eyars now, Even driven M3's etc and i still didnt like the DSG boxes.

However i'm sold after owning this, stick in in Sport on the box and dash and every gear you'd want is already there waiting !

While day to day commuting should a cheeky overtake come up i just use the paddles to drop a couple of cogs (still in D) when you see that over take is coming up so the cars setup as per you would in a manual.... works a treat!

If you drive it aggressively  in D then it will annoy as it'll be slightly more delayed it its reaction,  But then thats how you want it in D in town.
