Just wanted to say hello and not just lurk about the forum.   

 

How did I get here? Well, after a weekend pondering my next car change, all my internet 'research' and YouTube time wasting seemed to point me to one conclusion - the RS3!  I'm a confirmed Audi, Porsche and VW addict owning quite a few VAG performance motors and the odd 911 over the years with my current daily being a glorious Daytona Grey B7 RS4.  For the record the RS4 is the best all round motor I've owned, I love the look and the V8 soundtrack, but after 3+ years of ownership I'm feeling the urge for a change to big turbo power again. As I need 5 doors and a nod to practicality,  a 2011/12 RS3 Sportback in my favourite colour of Daytona Grey with some subtle mods & stage 2 power really fits the bill.

So I'll be getting the RS4 up for sale in the next few days, and hopefully be able to find the right RS3 in the next few weeks.  I'll try not to ask too many newbie questions but I can't promise that the odd dumb one will slip through the net!!   

 

Anyway, here's a picture of the RS4 at the supermarket fully loaded with bottles of booze and a weekly shop. Practicality and performance.......

Good luck finding the RS3 for you! V8 is a mighty soundtrack, but the RS3 has it's own sound, and very addictive...

Thanks for the welcome folks. Forum already been useful for pre-purchase information, and hope I can provide some useful input when I get the RS3. Will only be looking for Daytona grey one and prefer unmodified to start with, half the fun is doing the mods and the other half is using them!!

Well this must be the longest interval between I am definitely getting an RS3 and actually doing it!

 

After the RS4 I ended up getting a Golf 7R instead of an 8P RS3, and ran that for a year or so with APR stage 1 and VWR induction parts, but while it was a competent motor it lacked the soundtrack to go with the speed.

 

Pulled the trigger on a 2016 RS3 last week and am loving it so far. Similar power (at the moment!) to the stage 1 G7R, but the RS3 sounds so good.
