Take out the screws that hold the plate holder in to place and then pull it away, bear in mind that there is some clips at the back of it,  just play with the plate holder by moving it left to right and vice versa while pulling at the same time, good luck and don't snap anything.

Don't forget the car has an oil cooler in the passenger side intake.

How are you going to fix it to the grill ? I have been thinking about doing the same thing.

thanks for the info people, will try tomorrow, my number plate is legal size just cut the end white bits off as my reg number only has 5 characters

so can get it quite small and still leave plenty of room for the intercooler air intake.

on the question of how am i going to attach the plate to the lower passenger grill.........experiments in progress!!!!!

I'd contemplated the same.

Tried making a base attached by cable ties which was awful.

Dry wall screws that open up at the end is an option... Ill find a pic!

Nothing, if your car has been modified then you should have the blanking plate with the pre drilled holes for the air duct (first fix for the squeaking brakes)

What about the fixings that used to hold AA or RAC badges onto the grills of old cars, they have a long metal strip that sits behind the grill, you thread the screw through the hole in the number plate through the grill and into the metal strip fastener...voila.... :)

Similar to what I described however they'd suit much better I'd suggest!

Defo worth a shot with those.

How are you going to hold that bit where the screw goes in, can you actually get your hand behind the grill ?

this morning I tried cutting a piece of perspex the size of my num plate, used the fixings Vito shows above fitted well BUT........ I was going to use double sided num plate pads to stick plate to perspex so no holes show but the heads of the fixing stick out to far to get a proper fix, but unless you have the fixing on the ends you cant get it to bend around the slight curve of the grill.

MY EXPERIMENTS CONTINUE...........
