After a bit of contemplation put in an order last weekend at Lakes Audi, will get my car sometime early April, nothing too flash, just Sepang Blue with Grey SS seats. I didn't want the car to stand out from the crowd too much ;)

Was astonished to find out the demo car they have is now sold, seems that most dealers might not have many to demo come the end of September. Not in a position to buy until March, so with build slots getting further away it made sense to get a place in the build line a.s.a.p.

q? why is there a huge difference in RS option prices over the models in the UK and also between here and Europe?

For example, black line and coloured alloys are £100 to £200 on an RSQ3, coloured alloys on a German RS3 are much cheaper too... smacks a little of Audi being greedy....

First change will be trying to shod my car with RS4 rims, it looks so much better compared to the rotor design :)

Another one with a standard Sepang exterior! Excellent!!

In Poland the options cost is pretty much the same as in the UK. I looked on the German site too and didn't see that much difference to be honest. Though I didn't check the wheels as I will buy some for the summer and use standard for winter.

I agree with the RS4 wheels looking great, but are they 20" and not 19"? Also not sure what the offset is and if they are a straight fit... Uncle Fester can surely confirm the size? Lol!

Just ordered mine from Lake District Audi too, there's a guy near me (Kendal area) who's just changed from a red S3 to a sepang blue RS3, must be one of the first ones out in the wild, it looks amazing!

Yep, the RS4 wheels probably don't fit, though I'm hoping a work around (or a copy) comes onto the market, are the S4 optional wheels 20" too?

As for prices, on an RSQ3, black or silver trim is £100, compared to almost £700 on the RS3 and the wheels are £200 to have painted if they are the same size, times that by 3 for an RS3. Even metallic paint is a no cost option :/ Phone box on an RSQ3 is £175, on the RS3 its £325... wtf, is it not the same car? Would love to see the mark up % Audi are making on these cars, it must be close to Porsche levels ;)

In Germany I think the titanium rims are marketed at around 300 Euros (in UK they are 700 Euros), the extra light pack is 140 Euros, can't order that in the UK apart from in the comfort pack, which is annoying. Sports Seats are 745 Euros (UK its 1,100 Euros) and the fancy carbon bucket seats are 2,800 Euros.... shudder, I know UK Vat, taxes and so on are different, but that different?

Anyway, apart from moaning about the cost (I'm a northener) the rest is fantastic, especially the standard car and kit :) apart from the trim options there is nothing really that stands out as a must have and I like the fact it looks pretty indiscreet compared to its competition :)

I had a nosey around a Nardo Grey RS3 at Le Mans.... it looked the dogs proverbials :)

Oh, and I live near Ulverston :)

Simply down to marketing & sales strategy related to the demograph they're trying to hit with different models and options.  - these guys aint daft. You can compare different Audi models and that'll tell you a fair bit - but it's right across the VAG Group. You'll find variations between 'sister' cars and wonder why - but ultimately it's down to what they think they can sell as standard and what they can make on an 'upsale'.

Don't expect too much logic, rhyme or reason .... there's a bit of dark art to this :darthvader:

Nardo needs black pack and wheels in my opinion - my local dealer's demo had no black pack with titanium wheels and just looked bland

Do the RSQ3 20" rims not fit or do it for you ?

I too think the spec prices are a tad inflated......RSQ3s aren't selling so the 2015 price list, extras and discounts are pretty attractive..More or less every extra bar the upgraded MMI came out well under 42k for me......I pulled out purely on quality product issues tbh and to wait to see what the F Pace jag is like.....

Pat - you know those RS4 style rims would look great on your "car" (I use th term car loosely ....some say it was once a car and you tell us that it wil be ??  :) )

And a Jag ??? I thought that you were younger than that ???  :P

It would be just any old Jag it would be M&S jag...or should that be S&M in my warped world.....
There's talk of a big blown F Pacs maybe getting un veiled......and the F type R ain't like the Jags us owd uns remember

Seriously though one of my business partners just had a new XE I have to say you look at the wheels hubs brakes and coated parts and it does make you wonder if Audi are going where Mercedes went some years ago with quality and reputation that they have really struggled to get back
