Yeah I had bother with the suede wheel, handbrake and shift knob that was originally fitted to the car, basically after 9k and 18 months from new it looked terrible.
Fair play to Audi, after moaning about it a bit they replaced the lot for new.
Had the new bits about 6 months now, used daily. Looks as good as the day it was fitted, just keep a little suede brush in the glovebox and give it a good brush up every week or so, comes up a treat. Maybe a bit anal but I also keep one of those little alcohol based hand sanitiser pump bottles in the car and try and use it as much as I can when getting in the car, removes all the oils and dirt that your hands naturally have.
It's a nice touch, just takes a little maintenance.
If you were going for a re-trim I'd opt for Alcantara over real "back of leather" suede though, it's more durable and easier to keep clean tbh.
