Has anyone retro-fitted a reversing camera set-up and if so what make was it, where did you buy it, and what do you think of it?

Regards

Mark

I'm interested in doing this as well. Seen a few cables on bks-tuning.com & Kufatec but most of them appear to be for pre 2010 8P chassis cars.

These guys used my S1 as the guinea pig for the A1/S1 reversing camera they developed. http://www.advanced-...versing-cameras

If there is a sensible solution they will work it out! Ask for James (owner) or Tim and mention me (José).

Most really good audio places have some excellent camera systems to fit. I'm using Audio Images in Bradford...The owner kahlid is one of the most enthusiastic people I've ever dealt with

They are also performing the full audio build and MMI Install.....please don't ask for technical specifics I leave that up to others that know. As with all things me I'm only bothered if it looks good and performs well

To fit the reverse camera into the RNSE-E there are 2 methods...

OEM R8 camera module with camera which will give you moving guidelines or the aftermarket cheaper camera with a multimedia interface box that the camera plugs into and then that wires into the RNS-E which may also need a reverse signal feed to make the RNSE switch to the camera when reverse is selected.

We can install both if anyone is interested.

The oem setup is £650, most of that is parts as R8 parts don't come cheap

Ash, how much work would you need to make a trip up To the North East of England worthwhile for you?

Thinking of R8 reverse camera and folding mirrors which I gather will take the best part of a day to do?

Group buy anyone?

Ash I'm still interested in this and most of the other things I have inquired about previously.

For Audi Parking System Plus & front sensors can you put all 4 in the bumper or do you need the front plate? I have a Forge Intercooler so no number plate housing.

@p_g send me a pm

@jmcnamee98 I can fit them into the bumper if you wish, I've done a few Audi TT optical parking systems which wasn't ever an option for front sensors so had to custom mount them into the bumper but it looks totally oem

Bringing back an old post.

I’m looking at retrofitting the reverse camera using genuine parts only. I want the boot grab handle to have the camera on it (which I believe is the R8 option). I’d be looking at doing the retrofit myself as it looks pretty straight forward with just feeding cables and pulling trim off as well as some basic coding.

@Ash187 are you able to supply only or provide the relevant part numbers required for this install?

Much appreciated.

Yeah I know, I know hazzydayz etc quote £700+ VAT. But I’m determined to get the parts and DIY. I don’t even need it but I just got the urge to add another bit of tech to it to keep my eyes peeled off of new cars.
