Hi Folks,

Just an interesting topic really...from reading some previous posts, looks like a few prefer snow foam but I don't even know how to start with snow foam as I use a mix between a powerful hose pipe and a jet wash......I recently stumbled across Angel Wax Angel Wash which promises to leave a streak free/spot free finish....a load of bu**oc*s as this never happened and I still had to dry it.....

I would be interested to know what you guys use for a quickly weekly wash? Any good suggestions?

Cheers!!!

This definitely seems worth a try but yeah that's not really good value for only 250ml but the good stuff generally never is!

For me Valet Pro Ph Neutral Snowfoam first then I use Poorboys Super Slick And Suds Shampoo, its a great Shampoo and reasonably priced in fact it smells so nice if I had hair I'd use it on my head😨

There are a few things to note on the topic of shampoo, annnnd how far down the rabbit hole you want to go....lol

Shampoos of recent are much of a muchness in their cleaning ability's but a few stand out for me. If your after cheap dilution ratios and something that will sheet off a little easier, DoDo Juice do something called their supernatural, I've had 250ml that I use on costumers and friends cars (anywhere between 3-5 cars a week) and it's lasted over 5 months. Blown away really. I hate snowfoam as I think it's all hype, much better using a pump sprayer and something like BiltHamber Auto foam through it, better results from all my testing anyway :).

Going back to shampoos, Zaino Z7 is AMAZING and if I'm just after topping with a good gloss enhancing shampoo it's my go to.

If you are after throwing down a layer of wax/sealant then you want to be looking at a few things also,

Do you want your wax/sealant being affected by the attributes that the shampoo will leave behind? For me this is a no, I havent spent 50 hours perfecting my paint work, putting a coating on and throwing down Zymol Concourse to achieve a truly amazing finish to only ruin the water behaviour and look from a £15 bottle of shampoo lol.

If you are after going down the wax route then in my opinion you need something with no additives or enhancers. Definitive wax do the VERY BEST I have found :).

But then if your still washing with a bucket and sponge and putting more and more scratches and swirls then it may as well be with fairy liquid as your killing it anyway ;)

Go check out Detailing World, it'll blow your mind hahaha. Don't come and shout at me later though....

Lol glad you said this, I'll check it out, didnt really know using a bucket could scratch paint as I make sure I constantly rinse the bucket before hand and use a lambs wool wash mitt for the body....thus far paint has been alright...but then again the winter grit truckers really can be a bi**ch!! might need a paint correction!

Kelza mentioned Auto Finesse products, they seem pretty cool.....anybody else used the lather version?

Well you will need a bucket no doubt about it to hold your wash media haha. But you are on the right lines with rinsing well and the lambs wool mitt. get yourself another bucket and fill it with clean water to rinse your mitt after its been on your pain. This way it keeps your wash bucket clean.

I use alot of Auto Finesse products mainly interior based but they always seem so bloody dear to me. They are good though dont let it be said other wise!

Okay great...well buckets are fairly cheap and I will certainly take this into account...I would love to snow foam but it seems like so much faffing when I could do a quick wash and polish within an hour....if I am detailing then yeah I can sometimes take up to 4 hours and dodge shopping with the ball and chain  :D

My current set up is using Angel wax's Angel Wash, then dry, then clay with Bilt hamber, then dry and polish with Autoglym SRP then Collinite 476 or 915 depending on how much energy I have left in my arms! :)

For the wheels I use Bilberry wheel cleaner and Tyre shine from turtle wax...

Can't really knock that system tbh. Using SRP over the top of your wax will strip it, I'm not trying to teach you how to suck eggs just want to make sure you get the best out of your products mate :).

Dodging shopping is always a good shout LOL

2 bucket method for me with grit guard.

Actually make that 3. Wheels are washed separately, anything that goes near the wheels , never goes near the body.
